Takashi Kaneshiro Chased by Girls While Attending Class
"Japanese megastar Takashi Kaneshiro has been trying to improve his English in the U.S. at UCLA language school in order to snag a possible movie deal. Screaming fans have been following him around the campus and even interrupting lessons. The university was forced to move Kaneshiro to a more spacious classroom and put a ban on taking pictures.
Local media, on the other hand, wondered if Kaneshiro could finish school and come to Taiwan in time for the 42nd edition of the Golden Horse Awards. Asia Plus, the network in charge of the broadcasting of the ceremony, made a generous offer to pay for the star. "

I've got yer spacious classroom right here . . . . ;D
I guess he's testing his popularity. There's really no reason to do it there unless he wanted to see how loved he was. Could have gone to Nebraska or something and learned the same language.

Yeah well I was thinking about this some recently. In Hollywad a star can dress down or put on a simple disguise and go out in public with a small amount of fuss......I wonder if he can do that in Asia/Japan I've family in Hollywad and they see famous folk all the time and no one makes a fuss..... Anyway, just a thought...... I think it would be nice to be famous and be able to act somewhat normal and still be in a big city.....besides, they'll start filming Tekken soon if they haven't already......

Or he could have hired a personal tutor. Maybe TK is tesing his popularity or maybe TK is trying to see what it is like blend in and be a normal student/average person.

Webmaster, I hate to put you on the spot, but you're in SoCal (and I myself am in L.A.)...I narrowed his classes down to two, and was wondering--as a fellow TK fan, have you made it over to UCLA yet? I'm contemplating taking a day off from work to go over there just to hang out, but I guess I need to decide soon!

Camille, if it is not too far, why not? Dont forget to come back and fill us in.
But I have spoken to someone who has a friends in UCLA, they said Takeshi left after 2 days because the asian students keep harrassing him, cant confirm this, maybe the school is hiding him.

Hi Jean, I just never really respected or admired the fanatical 'mob element' of celebrity. I try to regard celebs as regular people--no better or worse than anyone else, and fully deserving of their privacy. So I'm not sure what I would do if I was to go over there--It's just not in me to race across the campus with a pack of screaming fans.
BUT let me get off my soapbox b/c what I wouldn't GIVE to lock eyes for just 2 seconds with TK!!!! Just to have that moment! ;-)
I actually ended up going over to Westwood the other night at around 9 in the evening and just walked around the lively campus commercial area. I was nurturing a fantasy that a lonely TK might come up to me and ask for directions to a coffee/tea house or a bar. ;-) Then, the fantasy continues with him inviting me to come along. (I know, it's stupid, but that's a pisces dreamer for you!!)
I'll probably go back over tomorrow night. Even if he's no longer there, it will be to celebrate his time at UCLA. However I think that he may still be here on holiday/or having hollywood meetings. He could be getting a customized private tutoring--which is offered by UCLA Extension--I'm sure the instructors offered after all of the pandemonium a couple of weeks ago.
Peter Chan went to UCLA Film School--I wonder if he has a home/condo here in L.A. that TK is/was residing in?!?!

Hi camille, I am not one of those "crazyfans" myself either, we should respect him as a normal individual. I would probably just smiled and say "hi" if I ever get a chance to see him and its down to fate if we actually going to speack because he rarely speak to strangers. Thats not silly, dreams may come true, a little dreaming doesnt hurt. I think I read somewhere his father lives in Seattle, maybe hes visiting him. Good luck, you might bump into him, you never know!!

Hey look at it this way...at least you guys are closer to Takeshi than I am. I doubt he would ever come here to Texas. I am not one of those "crazyfans" I'm a crazy fan BUT not the type of crazy fan that would make Takeshi feel uneasy. As much as I admire him I would not go running after him and chase him down for an autograph or anything. If that makes him unhappy then it would make me feel horrible for running after him like some lunatic fan.

These kinds of people ruin it for everyone. Don't they know that they would get more respect if they acted like normal humans around idols? It makes me crazy. No excuse in the world for girls to be screaming at some guy trying to go to class. It doesn't show any respect for Takeshi either.
