Hey guys I saw this news on TonyLeung. org. I don't think its official official yet though. www.tonyleung.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3976************************************************* [glow=red,2,300]translated by lemonberry[/glow] The direct translation of the Chinese title of the film is called "Wound City", not sure what name they'll choose to be the English title. Andrew Lau's new film is going to start with Tony Leung and Kaneshiro Takeshi (who was in Chungking Express), so far they haven't decided who'll play the leading female role, and the female role is going to be Kaneshiro Takeshi's wife. They were going to ask Janice (a new singer from Hong Kong, but her management company turned down the role because there's bed scene with Kaneshiro in the movie. Also the female role only has a small part in the movie). Tony plays a bad cop and Kaneshiro is the good cop. Andrew Lau originally wanted Tony to be the good police. After Tony read the script, he thought it would be more challenging to be the bad (corrupted) police officer. Therefore, he requested to switch roles with Kaneshiro. Tony's role is a senior police officer who's involved with the gangs (drug lord group) and they have mutual benefit relationship. Kaneshiro plays the good and honest police who is determinate to removes the bullies and brings peace to the society. He leaves his job because he's angry with the police's bureaucracy. But he still continued to attack the bad elements in the society, especially hates the corrupted polices. He has many wisdom fights with Tony. Even though Tony & Kaneshiro were in Chungking Express, but they were never in the same scene. So this will be the first time they're filming together. The other director Mak Siu Fai said even though this new movie is also about cops, but it's going to be different style from Infernal Affairs. Infernal Affair was a huge success, but he won't feel pressure from making this new movie.

If they are really making the movie...yeesssss... I love Tony Leung great great great actor. But I would whish Takeshi the bad cop role...a little challenge against his image...But they need a really good Storyline, because these, bad versus good Cop as a mirror our society, movies are a little bit worn out. Alright Iam still the Takeshi and Takeshi lobbyist...and Takeshi Kitanos Cop and Yakuza movies are still the best

Well I'm sure us Takeshi-fans look forward to seeing this movie but I agree with Iodred that the "good cop vs bad cop" theme has been done to death. Both in TV and in films. UNLESS in this movie there's some kind of a plot twist that'll have people gasping "OMG, we never saw THAT coming!" then that's different And BTW, is the management for this actress nuts?? So the part is small, so what? She will be co-starring with Tony and Takeshi! *sighs and shakes head* Oy.... So does this mean it's an open cast call for this role? (kewpie-chan gets run over by crazed TK fans wanting to audition for it) LOLOL....

aww again poor kewpie chan. I'll save you! haha
wound city...reminds me a lot of sin city... where there is the good cop and the bad cop... again... i agree kewpie. this kind of plot has been done too many times, though i'm sure takeshi will give a great performance. no doubt about that... however... if the director goes overboard... and makes takeshi do something utterly abnormal (aka no restless keyboard typing, creepy home videos, hardcore sex scenes *slaps head at the thought of sleepless town*, violent fits, etc. etc.) i'm gonna roll my eyes and shut the t.v. off.
now don't get me wrong, i am a huge fan of takeshi but PLEEEEEASE...do the man justice! i wanna see his talent shine like in HOFD.

Thanks Tje, those mobs are getting worse! LOL... Well even though he's done some off-beat scenes as you mentioned, you have to admit, you DO remember them and him as well. Kashikoi desune Takeshi-san (translation = very clever move Takeshi-san.) And you will get your wish to see him in something like HOFD. They'll start filming Green Saber soon and that too is a historical Chinese piece. (See other thread "Green Saber" for more details in this forum.)

O.O they scare me at night just kidding ohh i know green saber! i'm definately looking forward to that one... but i heard somewhere that zhang ziyi was a pain! how is that? i hope its not true. she's my fav. actress. that'd just make everything turn sour!

She is REKNOWNED for being a prima donna. There are other actresses who can (and have) done martial arts type movies, why can't they pick one of them? It's not like Ziyi has the corner market on types of movies like that

Oh, I'm not saying get an American actress in there (gawd no)! I'm saying they are other Asian actresses who have done martial arts type movies so why can't they be picked is all I'm asking.

Does this mean you'll audition for the role Tje? We'll have to brush up on our martial arts....hmm, I've done kendo in the past, does that apply? LOL!

*takes kewpie to the hospital* sowwie! i was late hahhaa oh man! the only physical exertion i've ever done is hiphop dance class and eating... haha! and one, lift the spooooon, and two, in your mouth! and chew chew chew chew... ohhh really though! i would love to be in a martial arts film just once, that would be dream #2. and i know what u meant about getting another actress! gawd...if i ever saw an american girl in a martial arts film but zhang ziyi is pretty much the most famous asian actress in america considering her success with CTHD and MOAG. people may expect a good movie since she's in it. you really cannot be successful in the americas if your english pronounciation is poor. with that said, although she doesn't speak it fluently, her pronounciation overall is very good, and that's a rarity. but like i said, eventually people will get bored of seeing her on these asian films... you know who they should've gotten instead? LUCY LIU! she's an even better actress and 20 times more gorgeous. she would actually look good next to takeshi, unlike his other female co-stars.

*bumps and bruises but otherwise okay.* Thanks Tje Yeah I was thinking Lucy Liu too LOL! Michelle Yeoh would be good too but she looked like she aged alot in "Memoirs of a Geisha"...not sure if it was make-up for the role or not. Other than that, I say we'll look good next to him too LOL! (this time jumps away from crazed fans)

Is this movie still being looked over? I haven't seen much promotion for this movie, even though I would like to see Takeshi in it. Most of the story idea has been over done, but I think if as kewpie-chan said, there are twists, it will get more attention from fans and the general audience. The wife part sounds like fun even though it's short.

we'll have to keep an eye out for any info on if they found someone to play the female part and if it'll be filmed.

Lily, the movie is definitely happening with Tony Leung and is now tentatively called "Behind the Sin." However, wether TK is in it or not is another matter...... although rumor has it that tk and mgmt will have a meeting about it sometime next week.
