Any other utada hikaru fans out there? Actually... Utada's music is what got me into the whole Asian/Japanese culture. (that's pretty sad since I'm asian anyway and it was only recently that I got into asian stuff haha)

What I like about her most is the fact that her voice is very full and unique, unlike most jpop singers. I get very irritated when I hear a nasal voice... no matter how good the beat of the song is. *is in pain at the thought of ayumi hamnasaki* uuugh shiver LOL

i've only heard 'first love' ....only cause it's the theme song to tackey's drama forbidden love and i like it alot.

She was the one doing all sorts of songs for the game Kingdom Hearts... Simple and Clean Remix was my favourite at one point in time... and then I heard more of her songs. They're very good!

The thing with most Jpop singers is that they're popularity (like the states) is also based on image... lets say "promiscuity". (OMG DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH SMAP...I WANNA KICK THEM) she may not be the prettiest jpooper but she's got a beautiful voice, I say!

I've known about Utada for a while now. She has become well known for the music she does for animes and the Kingdom Hearts games. She has awesome talent! I especially love her english version song called "Sanctuary."

oh and kewpie-chan... have u heard smap sing yet? Dear God!...oh man. I don't even... I don't even know what to say about them. I'm speechless... and I mean that in the most negative way possible. *starts to twitch* uuuuggghhhh

I've hear SMAP sing in the past. I can't believe they're still singing! I mean most of those guys must be tone deaf cuz they were just gawd awful earlier this year! (They actually were there singing at the annual New Year show in Japan called Kouhaku. I guess the "standards" in picking singers have really laxed by the ear splitting sound of it. LOLOL!!)

I had never heard of smap, but I watched your link tje and...my GOD they were AWFUL! Were they even trying to sing? I was embarassed for them watching that, lol, and wanted to stop, but it was one of things that is so ridiculous that you just can't turn away. I don't know if that crowd was cheering because they actually liked them or if they were all deaf and were spared that travesty of music.

HAHAHAHAHA oh man ...i was just as embarassed for them as you were when i first watched that performance. i thought it was SO HORRIBLE that i actually had to watch it again cause i couldn't believe it... and then i couldn't stop laughing. i mean...THEY LOOK LIKE THEY'RE SO INTO IT! it was almost like a parody on SNL, but worse... THEY ARE SERIOUS!
