Good morning.
But I didn't sleep. Because I just couldn't get to sleep. Well, I have had insomnia often recently; why? Do I think too many things? And, I have not had exercise very much. When the body is not tired, it may be difficult to fall asleep.
It has got quite warm and cherries are coming into blossom; spring has come.
I think also these days that we are just born in this era, at this time, at this place, in this environment and in this country; the colours and the ideas given by them are peculiar to this time.
If one had been born 1000 years earlier, one would have thought that the colours, the place, the country and the custom at that time would have been natural and ordinary; one's mind and heart would have thought like this...
I mean......well, it's meaningless, isn't it? Or, how shall I explain it?
If one find something strange in countries here and there, one will sometimes say "huh!!!", "oh!!!", "nonsense!!!!", "unbelievable!!!", "it's provincial" or the like, and burst out laughing because of the funniness or look down on it.
But on the contrary, people in another country may think of one's country in the same way.
I did not mean one of them is good or bad; I mean there isn't such a distinction. The custom itself told in one's own country is temporary.
Now we can tell that much of the custom of hundreds years ago has already changed, therefore the common sense that we think "yes, that's right" may be different 50 years later and it may be entirely different also 100 years later...well, one will not live such a long time.
Well, what do I mean...? I mean: Be free...
Ha-ha.
Time always passes. Just as Sakyamuni said "everything is uncertain"; well, the only "certain" thing that may be eternal is the change itself, isn't it?
What is Taiwanese? What is Japanese? What is Korean? One is Japanese if one is born here now; if one had been born 1000 years earlier, then one would have been Japanese; if one had been born 5000 years earlier......which country would one have belonged to...? What are the criteria for judging the nationality? If Japan will be occupied by China, Korea or Taiwan 500 years later, will one born here still be Japanese? And how about 1000 years later?
People in these countries originally drifted from various places. Why do they emphasise the honour of the country? Is it because they are proud of it? What is pride?
Be yourself, everyone.
What is oneself?
Ha-ha.
I've written quite long...indeed, I cannot fall asleep because I do nothing but think about such a thing.
Don, I haven't seen you for a long time, It was a pleasure to be with you. I'm sorry that I got drunk, ha-ha. And Mr. Orange...thank you for always treating us a drink. Is it OK that you deduct our drinking money as a necessary expenditure of the company? ^^; Let's drink together some other time.

Whoever says whatever, this is Mt. Fuji. There is also a link to the big one above the photo, please click it.
I was moved a little anyway because I saw it so clearly, moreover, from above. It reminds me a TV program that I watched a short time ago; they said Mt. Fuji could not be listed in the World Heritage because of "litter". "So please do something against the litter, everyone," they seemed to want to say. Then isn't it because of hot spring stations around it? I don't know very much, no, I don't know at all about the conditions to be listed in the World Heritage, but is there anything good if it is listed in the World Heritage?
I went to the Island of Yaku for filming of Misty before; there was a forest of the World Heritage in Japan; because I heard that it was one of the World Heritage, I expected so much that I would breathe fresh air, and that I would see wonderful nature, but we human beings are prohibited from entering the World Heritage......
Then...but...somehow...I don't understand very well, but I want to enter there; it is listed in the World Heritage because it is wonderful, then I want look at it, so I want to enter it; but why it is prohibited...? WHY!?!?!
I see! ...well, you think I will pollute it, don't you......?
Though I don't know who decided it, please let nature lovers look at it, then it is also possible that the lungs soiled by nicotine would be cleaner a little.
Hmm, I don't understand yet very well. Human beings are too selfish: they decide by themselves that this is the heritage and that is not, you can pollute and destroy there, don't they?
By the way, the lunar New Year will come soon; Onimusha will come out soon; St. Valentine's Day will come soon; I will be thirty years old soon!!!!
Ugh, what is the matter with me today...?
Oh, yes, I will write an amusing topic, too.
I heard this interesting story yesterday.
It is a quiz.
A man will get married.
There are three prospective brides.
To know them better, the man decided to give each woman five million yen, and observe what they would spend it on.
The woman A spent it on wonderful clothes that she likes, cosmetics and hairstyling. And she said to him:
"because I love you, I want to keep me beautiful to be loved by you for ever; I want to be your beautiful wife; everything is because I love you!"
The woman B spent it on his favourite things, cars and clothes for example, anyhow, only on him; she said:
"because I love you, I want give you something you like; I want to satisfy you. It is because I love you!"
The woman C spent it on an investment in some project, and then she gained fifty million yen, and she returned him five million yen; with the rest of money, she established a company under the names of him and her; she said:
"because I love you, I don't let you be in financial difficulties while living with you; everything is because I love you!"
Now here is the question!
Which woman did he choose?
Think deeply, and then look at the answer.
"His answer to the question is quite amusing! hahahaha! its gross for me to talk about it here... but i laughed my head off with takeshis answer... hahahaha..." -mrs_takeshi

It's endless. It's endless. When I become interested in something, I always tend to get endlessly and totally involved in it.
But once I get attracted by any other thing, I then start getting involved in it. I seem to have been that way ever since I was a little kid.
...Does it mean that I cannot stick to anything and I get tired of everything very fast??
Yieee!!!! NOooo!! i am not like tha---t!!
Anyway, my dad often says so indeed. Long time ago, when I was still in the elementary school, I learnt the microscope in science class. After coming home, I said: "I want it, I want one it, I want it; I want to study science!! Boohoo!!" (←I cried, moreover, very hard) And my parents bought a microscope for me against their will. (It was a very cheaply-made one.)
Then in less than three days, I completely forgot about the microscope to the degree that I could not even remember where I kept it. ...Well, of course...I examined various things like salt and sugar, ...but you would stop doing that when you run out of things to view through the microscope, right? I wanted to look at snow crystals but we had no snow in Taiwan, you see?
Later, it was at the lower secondary school, wasn't it?
Somehow I was interested in Kendo Club. Yes, I must have been attracted by the costume, probably. After coming home,
I said: "I want it, I want one it, I want it!!!! I want to practice kendo earnestly!!!" (←with a serious look)
And my parents bought a kendo costume for me against their will. (It was extremely expensive.) I tried it on at home and thought: "heh-heh, I look quite nice in it, DOn't I? Heh-heh."
On the first day at the kendo club, before starting even basic practices, they said I should strengthen my body??? And I was forced to keep running in the gym. I almost threw up. (Without the costume)
I quit the kendo club on the next day. ............ ...... ...
Hey...this is exactly one who cannot stick to anything.
NOooo!!! I AM NOT LIKE THA----T!!!
Heh-heh, you don't understand it anyway.
-■■■- Well, I'm really interested in too many things, maybe; it's also true of this website; I make it from interest. I learn something because I'm interested in it...what's wrong with it?

It is the first today; the main events of the month are...Valentine's Day... and the broadcast of my trip to the South Pole, aren't they?
I had an interesting dream several days ago. I like dreaming; let me tell you a bit.
■About the dream
Every thing, every matter in this world is energy(?), and each of them has its own colour. So are we, maybe the roots of us are white energy with nothing. We get in touch with everything as time passes. Everything→every kind of energy→every colour. On the way, we are absorbing colours that we feel comfortable. In this way, our own colours are changing little by little. I think, in conclusion, it is important which colour one wants to be. We feel happiness depending on it.
We have favourite things, matters and persons; that is to say, we want to absorb the colour, and we will feel comfortable (happy) by absorbing such a colour.
It is important that I compare it to colours, so there is neither good nor bad. I mean, there is neither good colour nor bad colour. Even if one defines something as bad, it only means that one doesn't feel comfortable with the colour. It's also normal that you think a colour bad and another thinks it good. In this case, it's strange that you think the person abnormal for the reason that he/she says the colour is good while you think it bad. On the contrary, the others might think your favourite colour strange. It's also the fact.
But as I described above, there isn't good/bad; there are only vivid colours.
Each of us was born and is living in this world of colours; that is to say, one will be a colour that one wants to be by absorbing various colours little by little on the way of life.
But, in our world, there is an idea of decision of majority; according to which, a colour that the majority thinks good is indeed "good". They denigrate a minority who is happy with a certain colour. Moreover, not to be denigrated, they will have a character of colour(?) that absorbs only colours that the majority thinks good. But if you eat something that you don't think delicious, it's not delicious, isn't it? I think one's colour will be vivid only when one is a colour that one feels happy.
So...let's be free. (But I'm not yet.)
That's all; I think it's an interesting dream, while I wonder if there is any meaning.
Hey, Onimusha, the Oni spirits are too difficult. ...but I want to see Kaede's Chinese dress, so I'll stick it out.
But why Kaede will be in a Chinese dress while Samanosuke will be in a panda costume? Make both of them be in panda costumes!
Hello, Capcom, my friends are misunderstanding that I proposed the large breasts of Kaede...

Hello, Capcom, my friends are misunderstanding that I proposed the large breasts of Kaede... Bwhahahahaha!! XD That's just too CUTE!! Mind you, she's more prettier than Oyu (Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny) but Oyu is still pretty. I prefer Kaede. Her breasts are fine. ^_^ Speaking of which, I'm gonna play both Warlords and Demon Siege later. Hmmm.. maybe I'll cosplay as Kaede this Halloween. I'm missing 4 Flourites. I don't know where they are!! Sometimes when I play, I have the panda suit on Sammy. It's funny in the third one: when you put on the panda head and take it off, the face changes. It's REALLY funny when he's wearing it and you move as him. It's hilarious to hear him speak through it!! XD I'm curious to know what the Chinese dress looks like. AND I am now currently playing on hard mode. The Dark Realm is HARD and beating Fortinbras is difficult on hard!! Gimmie some pointers, Takeshi!! XD

i became a new fan recently, and when i found out about the diary i swear it was liking finding gold. i read it all in one sitting, and then re-read it a few times. he is so smart and so funny, not to mention sensitive and adorable. he has many charming philosophical ideas and an obvious understanding of the world around him. here is a smart man, but also incredibly child-like [not to be confused with childISH]. there is a wonderful innocence there. i hope he has gotten his insomnia cleared up. he struck me as terribly lonely and probably has a difficult time connecting both emotionally and intellectually with his peers. i hope he falls in love and finds a lovely wife. he has many characteristics that would point to him being a devoted family man. i would like to see some healing for his loneliness.

Refer To Reply No.11 above.
Yes, I can sense that he is terribly lonely. We would of course like to do something about it, but we have to reach him in order to do that. But how? When he shuts himself out? How to be in touch with him or to reach him, the human being? Has any one noticed that though there are thousands of pictures and photos of him, but they are not him? Where is he?

[“However recently, I think we are people who were merely born to this era, at this time, at this place, in this environment and in this country. These things were presented to us. In other words, there isn't any meaning? What is it then? I want freedom…”]
(Let’s agree that ‘you’ below is an abstract notion, a figure of speech, not a direct address. No offence meant.)
1) If I got the idea right, you’re trying to look for your true self outside the time and the place (and without the baggage of socialization and things inherited in your genome - upbringing, culture, national self-identification, physique and psyche, etc.) So what’s left? I think emptiness – everything you are under these hypothetical circumstances is just a potential, an ability (in what shape and form will it exist? Don’t forget, you actually said no physical body, as you can’t think of man in general - there’s no such thing -, it’s an abstraction). On the one hand, such a being strikes me as coldly and uncomfortably inhuman, as there’ll be almost no reason to call this being human. On the other hand, isn’t the potential ability in itself a hope, and to hope is so very human? And would you like such a freedom?
But if we go on this, isn’t emptiness, a great void, a synonym to the notion of god, at least in some religions? As god is viewed as everything and nothing, a great potential ability?
If so, how does such a human being differ from god if at all?
I’m asking myself, is this what Christianity means when it says that man was created to the image of god?
You see, I’ve got questions, not answers…
2) Another point of view. My husband says – just think of a computer. There’s software and there’s hardware. Remove the software. What remains? The hardware. In this case (speaking about a human being) the hardware stands for all things biological – the gene set, the body, the type of psyche. On this earth a human being is bound to exist in the bio form. Let’s be realistic. So predetermination is very important. Freedom? There’s no complete freedom…
3) Still another suggestion. In Italy of the 16th century Giordano Bruno put forward the idea of the existence of innumerable worlds. (I dunno whether there was such an idea in the eastern philosophy and when it appeared, that’s why I don’t mention it. Sorry.) He spoke of space, the universe, but it gave an impetus to other suggestions that may sound weird or crazy. What if we say that a human being lives simultaneously in a range of worlds (realities), ‘dispersed’ through all of them, but remaining a single being? What’s the purpose of this? To look for one’s true self through all the facets, to acquire varied experience. To what aim? Dunno. To progress further to another form of existence? To shed the body and turn into, say, energy? Sounds crazy, and you catch yourself reaching for the phone to call in a team from the mental asylum to isolate those raving loonies that have got such ideas. But here’s a question: have you ever dreamed of yourself in a world that differs from the one you live in (totally different or recognizable, but changed environment, streets, people, talk)? If yes, what is it? People keep telling me that if you die in one of such dreams in this or that world, you can never return to it again. Why? What has happened to this personality (facet) of yours? If it’s merely games of the psyche then how come two or more people can meet in one and the same dream at one and the same time (on previous mutual agreement) and act together in this dream working some changes there (there’s even a spiritual practice called something like dreamvision)? What is freedom in this framework?
Words, words, words…

Looks like you have plenty of questions on your mind which requires deep thinking and clarifications. Not knowing you or your religion, in good faith, I am taking a risk here by suggesting a book to you which you can read. Please note, no prejudice or offence is intended on my part.
The title of the book is : The Heart of Prajna Paramita Sutra" (with commentary by Master Hsuan Hua). It is Buddhist teaching.
It is a very profund and interesting book which may answer all your questions about emptiness and freedom.
