OH yeah, don't get me wrong. If I had an actor hubby and he had to lip-lock with someone I wouldn't like it too. But being married, I'd trust him that his heart is with his home/family and he'd not do anything foolish to cause undue pain to them.

That was a really nice article on Takeshi. The title was a bit off putting though. I thought you meant he rejected Maggie Q personally. I really liked what Takeshi had to say about movie roles and the things he feels are important as an actor like artistic freedom. He's really smart about that. As for the gf thing, I'm just glad he's not making a big deal about it. Since it's really up to him, who he dates, famous or not.

On another note, Maggie Q, hot and rising HK movie star/model from Mission Impossible 3 had come first in a number of HK polls as the sexiest starlet. She's every male's dream and once stated that Takeshi is her ideal man during an exclusive premiere in the UK. But is she his? He laughs nervously. We continue to probe him. "I don't know...I don't know her personally...I never thought about her." But what does he think about her as a potential girlfriend? "Well I've only known of her recently because of that new Tom Cruise movie that we hear about so often..so there's not much I can say...she's probably not my type." Does he know that she's a model we ask. "Models aren't my thing," he laughs, "I prefer a woman that isn't part of the limelight too. It's very hypocritical for me to say this because of my own career, but I have a preference for people that aren't in this business. They don't have this hunger for fame or popularity and I love that. Modest girls, family girls, someone reserved and doesn't sell their body for the media. I don't like party girls either. Sometimes a woman that is too Westernised isn't good for me too...I don't understand them and they won't understand me. I'm kind of traditional in that way and I like traditional women." But he can't deny Q's beauty, can he? "Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say right? I think my opinion is probably different to most men".

Well Q or not, Hollywood or not, Takeshi Kaneshiro is one man that can go nowhere but higher. But still...we're crossing our fingers.

Taiwanese movie star Takeshi Kaneshiro was further questioned by Star Magazine after his brief discussion concerning hot rising star Maggie Q.

"I don't see why people are so fascinated with my opinions of her" Kaneshiro says uncomfortably, "I hardly see the need to disclose anything". Recently, the A-list actor was interviewed and claimed that he preferred "a woman that isn't part of the limelight" and someone more "traditional", but when asked whether he could deny her beauty, his answer was vague.

"Looks aren't that important" Kaneshiro says, again trying to avoid our question. "I wish her the best for her career and that's all. Please stop asking me about her, it's not of my concern".
We tell him that we notice his hesitation whenever asking him questions about relationships and women.

"The reason why I'm not comfortable with giving straight answers is because of how certain people might react to my answers...I don't like to get involved...look, if you really have to know, her looks don't appeal to me. But what does that matter? I'm sure there are men out there who are attracted to her. My opinion isn't important and at the end of the day, it's just preference".

Would he ever star in a film with her? "You know, it doesn't matter who's in the movie. You just have to act professional and try to get along with all the cast members. You do your job, go home and that's done. There's nothing more to it. What's important to me is the story of the film and the director. We actors and actresses are just subjects to help guide the bigger picture of the movie".

So we're guessing he would never date another celebrity? "Never is a strong word. I prefer not to...and I don't see myself ever being with one...but I can't foresee the future. Also, there's something I want to correct from our last interview. In case of any misunderstandings, I didn't intend to mean every single woman in this industry falls into the indecent category. All I meant was that I don't regard those particular types highly".

For someone who says he doesn't like to be straight forward on topics like that he, is pretty honest. Probably one of his few really meant answers, you can feel his anger about these stupid gazillion times asked questions. Yeah she's pretty but who cares....like that, makes him believable as a smart and grounded man.

Hi ladies,

Interesting topic on loving your man (possibly TK) unconditionally despite his profession or lack of time together.

Ok, here are my thoughts.

1. I agree that if you date/marry TK, you have to accept the fact that he's not your average Joe Blow. Hey, I would be lying if I said I wasn't bothered by seeing him kiss other actresses. However, if his heart is true and only sees it as a job then as his lover I will have to accept that. Of course it will be hard but at the end of the day he's mine solely. I think trust is the main ingredient in a relationship. Any guy can go out and cheat on you regardless of his profession. With TK's case, you know who he's kissing,hahahah.


2. I think the hectic schedule shouldn't be a problem. When I was dating my husband, he was away for college. We saw each other twice a month but the time together was unforgettable. Also, when we were apart, I spent quality time with my family and friends so I had the best of both worlds.

Ladies, we shouldn't be upset if our man is too busy. We should enjoy the free time and have "girls day" outings. Believe me your man will appreciate you more when they don't see you all the time.

Hmm..traditional. That's the way to go for me too. I'm glad Takeshi isn't picky. Modesty is attractive. Lol, well yeah I don't think the Maggie Q questions are all that important either. From reading that, you can tell that questions he gets about women like Maggie are obviously asked way too much. It's like he knows, but he's focusing on the acting and the story in terms of filming and being an actor. I like that. Go TK!

LOL, whoa, Takeshi's pretty harsh there.

I really like that he's honest, straight down. He just says it outrightly, "her looks don't appeal to me" meaning he doesn't find her attractive. Wow, I gotta say I respect him for being able to come out that honest. Other actors would probably just say, "yes, she's attractive" and the story would end there. But he doesn't seem to want to lie, and gives out vague answer before all this questions finally annoy the hell out of him.

the way he dodged the questions was so cute. but what do you guys think he means by a "traditional" woman? surely he doesn't mean someone who's happy to just stay at home all day, not have a career, let him be the head of the household etc...?

I hope not. From what we know about him, I'm betting he just means a woman who isn't really out there. Doesn't dress flashy, appreciates family, is a little more conservative, etc. That may just be part of his culture. I, personally, haven't seen too many oriental men marrying western women... I'm thinking that the part he mentioned about a traditional woman might go hand in hand with not wanting a woman that is too westernized.
