Ooo, this is a toughie! I'd have to say he first caught my eye in HOFD, then my curiosity in Returner, my undivided attention in Lost and Found, my heart in Nisennen no Koi (Love 2000) and the rest of me in Kamisama mou suokoshidake (God, Please Give me More Time)

oh he's so cute in chungking express, you'll like it. i thought he was great in fallen angels...he plays a mute so it's interesting to see how he "communicates" with people in the film. The scenes where he was with that poor guy in the barber shop and ice cream stand were hilarious

I must've watched HOFD and Lost and Found over and over....so much so that I had a vivid dream about him one night LOL! Hey, I know what y'all are thinking and no, it wasn't R-rated....heck it was barely PG-13 But it did leave a strong impression on me...so much so that I was inspired to write a poem. (posted it on a different thread called "poem for takeshi".) So I guess you could say I knew it was love after that

Kewpie-Chan, you totally rock for mentioning that scene in HoFD! Sweet smokin' Jesus! Was Takeshi ever HOT in that whole sequence! I have every screen cap, minute by minute of that scene in my scrapbook of Takeshi-goodness I must say that I first saw TK in HoFD and was immediately smitten, but when I saw him in Sleepless Town as Kenichi... He burned me like TOAST! Most of the movies I have seen him in He is SO adorable, sexy, somewhat naive...you know? Then...to see him in that role of Kenichi it just blew me away. I made inappropriate noises by accident! I embarrassed my own self! I still have several DVDs that i need to see yet, so I'll get back to ya on those!

Oh my goodness, hehe this is fun!
The first time I saw him in "God plz, give me more time" in 1997 or 98, I was probably like 13 or something. My goodness, he was a cold hearted bastard in the beginning, but I kept watching that drama and he captured my heart with his acting skills. Ever since then I watched almost every single one of his movies, dramas. J-pop was very big back in late 90's, so I practicaly net-stalked Kimura Takuya and Takeshi Kaneshiro! lol Then, he catched my attention big time in HOFD and Returner.
By the way someone had mentioned earlier about finding Chungking Express and Fallen Angels. If you live in the US, u can rent them from "Hollywood" Rentals. Surprisingly, they have many movies by Wong Kar Wai!

"Sweet somkin' Jesus!..." is that what you actually said when you watched it? LOLOL!! When I saw HOFD the first time I was floored. All I kept thinking was, "Damn, who IS this hot guy??" When I saw ST the first time my friend Tom (we were watching it with a group of friends) swears I actually gasped and said in a low voice "Oh my..." that made him and his friend in the room stop and stare at me. To this day he likes to tease me, "So can the new guy in your love life make you say in that bedroom voice 'oh my'?" LOLOLOL.....

Kewpie-Chan, I am so happy for you that TK made you gasp right out loud...I was hoping it wasn't just me, heehee. My best friend and I refer to that yummy sound as "gulpaslurpygoodness". Example: "Wow! I saw that new picture of TK and had a moment of gulpaslurpygoodness!" I also consider Takeshi as most definitely "Bookworthy" ( as in a stalkish scrapbook). When its truly TK goodness.., you say: "TK needs to vaccuum my car in a speedo." Who says Librarians aren't fun?

"TK needs to vaccuum my car in a speedo." Oh my Goodness. that is the perfect expression of some rather inexpressable feelings! i have been searching for a word that might express that feeling, and there's none to be found, for me. now i see that instead, here is the perfect phrase: "TK needs to vaccuum my car in a speedo." he really does. librarians, i declare, are great fun. thanks for sharing that sentence, it has made my day!

That's a good line cinxxx! Lemme tell you what I blurted out to my co-workers last month that I'm sure will make y'all laugh....
Last month I ordered a photo book of Takeshi-san and it came in the mail 2 weeks ago. During a break we were looking over it and there was one of him in a Biotherm shot that was to die for. We all gasped and I blurted out, "Oh my god, I think my ovaries just sang and hit that high note in the Star Spangled Banner."
;D
