haha i remember that sreyda! it's one of my favorite parts as well. i agree though, their kisses could've been a little softer....when their mouths came together, it didn't even look like they were kissing. but what a gentleman takeshi is, always so gentle and respectful.
welcome to the forum!!

speaking of the commentaries by the director and ziyi, was it just me or did anyone else here feel that ziyi kept trying to point the spotlight back on her? There was one part the director was talking about why he shot this scene this way and she more or less says "yeah, yeah" then turns a complete 180 and brings up a topic they discussed earlier (about her of course) and leaves us fans listening her "preen" on and on and on........ack! the one comment that was made that had me laughing and feeling so sorry for Takeshi-san was when they said to him "Gee you really ride well!" and Takeshi-san's comment back was, "Really? I don't know what I'm doing. I just get on the horse and pray I don't fall off! The horse seems to know where it's going so I just hang on." LOLOL!!

hmmm, actually ZZ's love scene with andy lau doesn't look much like kissing either. I haven't seen many chinese love scenes, so I wonder if HOFD's love scenes is typical of what a chinese love scene is like?

Thanks, Kris! Lol Kewpie-chan! The title of this forum makes me laugh everytime I see it "house of lying daggers!" even though its a misspell, if you think about it, it does make sense. everybody in it is "lying"

hehe did anyone else enjoy the commentary as much as I did? I giggled when they talked about the first scene where Jin and Mei kissed. Ziyi points out that the both of them were nervous to do the scene and that she could hear their teeth hitting each other while they were kissing! Takeshi asked her if it hurt, which it did! haha and then zhang yimou's reply to that statement was "It's because u both are terrible kissers! if you were good kissers, you're tongues would be touching and not your teeth!" LOL
in the beginning of the movie, the introduction shows a drop of blood before the calligraphy. i wonder whether yimou did it purposely to secretly reveal to the audience that it was just in that simple drop of blood that mei sacrifices everything; her life for the one she loves... as though it was bitterly in vain. beautifully and heartbreakingly done!

Yeah, that comment by Zhang Yimou had me cracking up too As for the drop of blood in the beginning, I don't know. Although if he did, he'd have to do it after the climactic battle at the end since they didn't know it was going to snow on the days they were shooting it.

too bad Andy and Takeshi weren't doing the comments with them. Would've loved to hear them offer their insights and funny stories

but poor takeshi with his leg injury... i was wondering why he was constantly sitting and limping on some parts. i thought he was just overdoing it on purpose.

Ok you PR people, make a note: if you get Takeshi-san to do the commentaries on any movies he's done, guarantee your DVD sales will go through the roof. LOLOL.... The man can read the most boring thing on earth and we'd still all be listening to that voice! Oh...... *kewpie-chan gets the vapors*

OH YA! we should all request to takeshi to make sure he does commentary for his next film with ziyi! AND DELETED SCENES! we all know there were some funny deleted scenes from HOFD but they didn't even put it on special features! *shakes fist*

Alright, has anyone the korean special edition of HOFD??? Because there is a huge making of where you can see how the movie was made from choosing the flowers to shooting scenes. It is very funny coz u get to see how Takeshi is learning to ride on a horse and falling and unfornuatly breaking his leg. I t is sooo cute Zhang Yimou visits him in his room where he lies in his bed with messy hair and a pityful expression in his face. The next few days they tried to shoot the goodbye scene with takeshi sitting on a rollchair carried by four man looking quiet uncomfortable. I mean imagine sitting on that shaky thing...and then to act very in love..awwwggh heeee is adorable. Always a little shy but funny and kind.

I can talk hours about what kind of impression he made on me. There are so many scenes which made him more adorable as before. he is so shy in front of the camera, always a little embarrassed that someone is watching him when he does things "behind the camera". You see a lot of deleted scenes which show how funny and childish he is and that he is interested in his environment. Ohhh gosh I probably starting to bore you....I´ll better stop
