Ending: makes me cry so much. The costumes are gorgeous. I absolutely LOVE the two that Zhang wore at the beginning. Takeshi's blue and purple (yay!! ) threads are a beautiful combination of said colours.

I really hope this couple will have chance to join in another film again. I think I had heard that they would have new film together again...Anyone heard of it or it's just rumour :-)
I watched this film twice in theater and 3 times or more via DVD at home :-D

I have a big soft spot in my heart for HOFD. It was the first Takeshi movie I had ever seen. I remember I was instantly smitten with his stunning good looks and effortless charm. He is so hot and his performance was really good and especially moving towards the end.

This is the movie that first brought him to my attention (and unfortunately the only one I actually have on DVD). It's a good movie (visually it was probably the most gorgeous movie I had seen up to that point - the bamboo forest scenes and the Peony Pavilion sequence almost gave me eyegasms), but again it's really unrealistic in the sense that the two lead characters pretty much fell in love overnight.
