Can we place blame on the director? (Can just imagine it now...) "No, I want MORE tears! Cry me a river dammit!!" "Okay that was good but this time say it in a whiney tone. Like if you were a 5 yr old in a toy store wanting a doll and pouting, whining, crying to get what you want!" "If you're not crying I want you smiling!" (...or something like that. LOLOL) ;D

Can someone help me out there bc the ending left me hanging. I know that eventually Masaki is going to die. But what happen to the baby?? The ending where she drop the flowers resemble the death of Keigo ex lover ( she die the same way). Does it means that Masaki and Lisa destiny is the same?? Both carry Keigo child but cant make it ? What do you think?

Hey Tammy - did you see the last episode? Masaki died on her wedding day in the church and Keigo raised his daughter. That was her with him at the grave a few years after Masaki died and them playing and rolling on the grass in a park or something. I hope this was helpful.

Yes, i finally get to see the final ep. Omg isnt it a bittersweet ending? i was in tears ( mix feelings of sad and happy). I thought it was super cute how keigo raise his daughter. They are so playful. Hes such a gooood father, that i dream of a man like that ( i know im weird..dont roll your eyes at me hehe). Prob its bc takeshi is playin keigo thats why im so sentimental hahaha..hes soo hot in there *GASP* oh yea.. i love everythin about this drama ,except for the part where Masaki slept with a stranger for $$$$ to go to keigo concert. How immature is that lol.. but as the story progresses........ i really love how keigo fell for Masaki. Indeed, the crying of Masaki can be a little bit toooo much for me. She cry almost every 2 minutes. Nevertheless, i love both Masaki and Keigo ( tk more likely lol)

I really enjoyed this movie and a big part due to TK in the lead. Someone correct me if I'm wrong - the age difference seems to be acceptable in Japanese culture. Schoolgirls are the perfect "woman", regardless of the man's age. I feel the movie is similar to reading romantic novels, fantasy with the perfect man and relationship. The AIDs part was not the message being sent, the love story was.
With that said, I cried like a baby during all the sad scenes and kept hoping Makasi would somehow discover they made a mistake and she was not HIV positive. Definitely worth watching.

I just finished watching the series. Wow! I'm speechless. I love it! It was so sad.
Now I'll just need to finish watching Golden Bowl to cheer me up because God, Please Give Me More Time was depressing......but good!

I read all these posts about GPGMMT, and have seen some of it at "www.crunchyroll.com" (they have the entire series w/english subs) but its such a sad, heavy drama! I am trying to jump around the episodes so it doesn't make me want to throw myself under a bus. Takeshi is ashtonishingly beautiful in this! There was a spoiler a few posts back, so I know she dies on her wedding day...aahhhhh! Pour bleach into my eyes so I can't see THAT happen! No way can I finish it! On the other hand... I DID watch Golden Bowl (several times, now!) Sweet Smokin' Jesus! I absolutely adore this series! I have to find out how to download it and make a DVD copy so I can watch it anytime I want, or in case my DSL bites the dust ****Takeshi saying "Oh Yeah!"in his swoon-able quirky american!**** Flames shot off me! He makes me stupid He's so cute! ;D

Yes, Helena...it is in Golden Bowl. He sprinkles english slang through all his dialogue! He's not "putting it on" as you say, though...It's obviously his natural accent that comes across as he speaks english! Some else in here mentioned he has a cute "accent" when he speaks one of the other asian languages, too! Oh, yeah...if you want to hear him speak just plain ole' english...watch "Too Tired To Die". He speaks english through the whole movie. Be careful, though...hotness might swarm over you...thats a risk any true Takeshi fan must endure.

It is a sappy J-drama but you have to remember at the time this was made, it was a big deal. I mean think about it, Japan is a country that still cannot tell their patients they have cancer so to have this shown on national TV and it's about AIDS, that's was a big risk! As I understand it, many lead actors at the time turned it down as they didn't want the stigma of AIDS sticking to them by the paparazzi. Ironic once you think what happened to the character Keigo in this series. But our fav actor stepped up to the plate as it were and the rest as they say is history.

I feel sorry about inadvertently bumping up old threads, but I really do have to say something about this series. I ended up watching the entire thing in one day, it was that addictive, very good series. Over the top, dramatic and not terribly realistic, but let's be real here- what drama series revolving primarily around teeenage characters, is ever realistic.
As an aside, I'm glad to see this board back - I lurked here for awhile years ago and was sad to see the place had gone. Hopefully everybody will come back and there will be even more members.
