Aloha!I canft blame you that youfve had hard time following the story and gave up half way. So did many Japanese when this drama first came out.
Even for the Japanese, the story was very unrealistic and hard to understand the context back then. But this perception is changing after people are finding out the shocking truth that there are many secret agents from other country hiding everywhere and planning an act of terrorism in Japan ( I should not mention what country I am talking about on this page. But itfs on the breaking news past 2 days).
although the story proceeds very,very quietly , (sorry, no passionate love-making scene) it gets pretty good as story comes to the end. In fact, I loved the last two or three episodes very much.
I heard a lot of people feel the same way. I think patient is the key for this drama.
Takeshi is very, very charming, cool , gorgeous, sexy, irresistible,and etc. as always.
Additionally,Takeshi did superb on showing the characterfs emotional change.
Personally, it is one my favorites , both story and his performance. I loved the way he kissed Miho Nakayama the first time,,,,,, just like he couldnft stop his feeling toward her anymore ,knowing there is no future for them getting together.
I think they did not show the love-making scene on purpose, because usual love story is not the theme in this drama.
we just have to use our imagination as for the love making scene,(Mmmmmn!that's fun, actually.
)
I personally think HOFD and Love 2000 have something in common to some extent.
Takeshifs initial purpose for approaching a girl is to just use and take advantad of her.
Then, they are slowly attracted each other, they don't know when their feeling toward each other started. Poor Takeshi struggles between his mission and love.
theyfve come to the point they cannot go back, and lead them to a tragic ending. !!!!!
Even Takeshi was saying in the interview that the story of love 2000 would make an excellent movie . I bet he likes the story and his part

When this drama was on the air about 5 or 6 years ago , there were not many people who worried or concerned about the issue of terrorism, but look at the world now,,,,,! Itfs like the scenario writer of this drama knew what the year 2000 would be!?!?!?!?
Anyway, In 11 episodes, there are plenty takeshis for you to enjoy.

My husband reads lots of books and somtimes he talked to me about som countrys that had been atacted by terrorist . so this story was not so unbealeveable to me . Miho's Name was more uncomfortable to me...Like Rieru
