Wow I just looked all over this forum and I found no thread about Chungking Express. This is weird because I think this first of all a great great great movie and second of all Takeshi Kaneshiro is in it and as far as I know he is very proud of his collaboration with Wong Kar Wei. I watched that movie yesterday and I was just blown away. I mean this movie is so funny, heart touching and edgy you just have to love it. Personally i like the Story of Faye Wong and Tony Leung more ( this man has Charisma..Iam serious) more than the other one. But Takeshi is very cute and funny, I like him in these kinda roles. I liked how the plot was constructed, how people touch each others life's in these short moments but have so much in common more than they ever imagine.

Chungking Express is one of my fave movies..........and Tony Leung is such a great actor. I like him very much. But I`ve heard from lots of people, that they don`t like the movie that much. All of them prefer Fallen Angels.........

Hmmmmm... I watched Fallen Angels recently and I have to say I lke Chungking Express more. The photography is great and innovative and the characters are edgy and show the point of beeing lonley together...but the story of CE touched me a lot more. Takeshis charakter is awesome...wow with every movie I watch with him my respect for his talent grows more and more. I had the best time watching him.....

I like this movie in the sense that the other actors/actresses are known in the biz already but one can't help but pay attention to Takeshi-san. You are drawn to him, even though he doesn't have a big part in the film and you're not sure why. Well, I do. It's called screen presence baby! And Takeshi-san has it in spades

I really didn't know what to expect when I saw this movie and it just kind of knocked me to the side. It was a very interesting story with characters that actually made you want to see the rest of the film. It was well directed and well acted, it was just a good combination that really pushes it to its best.
I don't think I can say anything else about the movie without rambling on about how good it was, lol.

Konnichiwa,
Just got the Wong Kar-Wai collection. I didn't understand "Chungking Express", I'm going to have to watch it again. I think I was concentrating on Take... ;D
Which is your favorite Wong Kar-Wai movie? Could be one of Take's, and why is it your favorite.
I think Wong Kar-Wai is amazing - though I haven't seen all of his movies yet.

Fav scenes in CK: 1) when he's arguing with the store clerk of "prematureally" tossing out the canned pineapples before the expiration date and he gives Takeshi-san a box full of expired products and the bum outside the store wouldn't take the product complaining it was expired! ;D 2) when Takeshi-san was eating can after can of those pineapples and he drinks the pineapple juice from one can, swishes it around in his mouth as if he's "tasting" fine wine and grins. 3) when he's desperately trying to connect with anyone on the phone after he's too late in asking out the girl at the take out counter 4) the infamous "Do you like pineapple?" line in multi-languages. Classic.

But I do not think it is funny. I think it is versatile. Very multy dimetional, which is very interesting to watch indeed. I will alway have some shots in my mind from that film. First and the most unforgatable is when Takeshi buys a can of old pineapples every year. since that movie I started to like canned pineapples. I have no idea was it the influence of the film or not.
