For those of you who have read Tales of the Otori books, there is a movie coming out called "Across the Nightingale Floor" Takeshi would be the absolute perfect actor to take on Otori Takeo.  |

Thank you!!!ooohhhhThank You! Didn't we say He would be perfect? Somewhere else on this board I had suggested that Takeshi would be perfect for these novels...and Boy, do I love it when someone agrees with me!!!
I am currently reading I.J .Parkers novels about Feudal Japan...a series of 5, all the same main character "Akitada Sugawara". Another absolute PERFECT fit for our beautiful versitile Takeshi-san! I made myself a lovely bookmark of TK as "Jin" from HoFD, and with that beautiful period costume with his hair all tied back, "Akitada" totally came to life as I read his adventures!
I recommend this series 100%! Here's the chrono order if anyone is interested...
1. The Dragon Scroll
2. Rashomon Gate
3. Black Arrow
4. the Island of Exiles
5. The Hell Screen

ChrisW, I sincerely hope you read them because Takeshi is Akitada incarnate!
Its a totally perfect fit!
Oh, and let me remind you to make that Takeshi bookmark so you can gaze upon his beautiful visage as you read! keekee!

oops! I forgot to mention that my library (where I work) just got their copy of the Otori prequel, and I am sneaking it home to read it before I actually link it into the system for patron use! I feel so naughty when I abuse my job position for personal gain! But thats just how Takeshi-san affects me!

I don't see anything wrong with that cinxxx, you will return the book right?  ;D As for the bookmark, I didn't think of that, I will have to work on that. Thanks for the suggestion. |

i have a limited edition advance preview of the otori sequel too ;D i won a compatition to design a book cover for it. was pretty chuffed actually. it's dedicated to me and signed by the author too. rock on!!!
lol but i haven't actually had time to read it through, i'm only about a third of the way in. can't wait for the film!! one of my favourite stories cinemalised and hopefully with takeshi-san in too? *dies*

Helena, I am so impressed that you have a signed copy! What a fabulous thing!  I have finished "Heavens Net is Wide", and went straight into "Across the Nightingale Floor" (again). It makes me wonder how I really ever understood the Nightingale Floor the first time I read it! It was absolutely seamless! I SO fell for Otori Shigeru! In my dream world, where I totally rule, heehee! Takeshi MUST play Shigeru, then, *(spoiler alert) Later ...He must play Otori Takeo. Right? Its the only way, and Takeshi is the ONLY one! Love it Love it Love it! ;D |
