Don't like her new haircut that much though. She looks ill with short hair.

I'd take a listen. I'm more of a metal head meself but I am looking to getting some J-rock bands.
I did hear two songs related to (?) Azumanga Daioh. The songs are J-pop.

It's kinda strange actually. I don't listen to pop music of any languages but only Japanese... lol. I can't explain. I listen to Coldplay, Radiohead, Chevelle, Jack Johnson... and for pop, I only listen to J-pop

Send send away!! Cable modem ROX!! iTunes has two radio stations that feature J-pop artists. I'm currently listening to one of iTune's metal stations. I switch from that section to the classical section. In this part of Canada, any bands from Japan are hard to find, no matter what kind of music they play, but I can find imports of my favourite North American bands from Japan.

Ahh!! I get what you mean!! It's 10 to 1 AM my time so I'm a weee bit tired so it may take a moment to fully understand what you mean sometimes. I am so tired that I wrote "funny" instead of "fully". Nani!!

That songs sounds more easy listening than pop.
I could be wrong, though.

Yeah probably.. but she IS a pop singer that's the only catergory they have (no I'm kidding ) Actually a lot of her songs are really jazzy... so I think she should really be "pop/jazz" kinda...

I wouldn't know exactly. Heavy, death, thrash, speed, and symphonic metal are what you'll catch me listening to most of the time, adding some music from the Middle Ages (and other classical greats) from time to time. And I love shoujo. I'm quite the mixture!! I think she'd be popular here (where I live) with the easy listeners.
