I mostly enjoy Jpop in terms of Japanese music, like Ayumi Hamasaki, Koda Kumi, BoA, Crystal Kay, and especially Utada Hikaru.  L'Arc~en~Ciel would have to be my favorite Jrock band. Hyde's music is pretty cool. The Pillows are really good too. I also like Yoko Kanno's music she's made on anime. It's really sweet. |

i started out listening to only JE artists, but i'm slowly expanding my collection of japanese songs. i'm now listening to utada hikaru, mai kuraki and oda kazumasa....all with amazing vocals.
i don't know anything about oda kazumasa, but i heard that he's an older artist, who is very famous in japan and in his 40s, which surprised me a bit. if you listen to his songs you would probably picture him in his mid-20s or so, but what does age have to do with anything cause this guy's voice is really beautiful....imo, his vocals are comparable to that of singer peter cetera...anyone here know who peter cetera is, you'll know what i'm talking about.
right now i'm listening oda's song called masshiro and it's so addicting....i've had it playing all day....can't help it, i love this song so much!!!

My friend has been a big fan of Gackt and raves about him constantly. I finally heard one of his songs on iTunes and I must admit he's not bad! I also heard a new song (at least think it is new) from a band I liked about a decade ago. The group is Anzenchitai and I think the lead singer has a nice singing voice. ;D |

I forgot Miyavi.
I wish Asian music was more popular here in Canada. I wish to buy all of Miyavi's albums. I've only heard a handful of his songs. He is QUITE the musician. "Are You Ready To Rock?" on acoustic: Wow.
hide is so popular that many of his albums are no longer available. I was lucky enough to get The Best Of X-Japan from Right Stuf.

^Lol, yeah Hyde's cool too. I love his voice. I should get more L'Arc~en~Ciel songs. Their music is awesome. It would be great to have them do a new album again. And hopefully a new song from Hikki too. ;D
