Hello everyone! Im new here! I finnaly found a Takeshi board, and I love this one so I thought Id sign up! But I dont think I can call myself a fan yet, I´ve only seen House of flying daggers, but when I saw it I fell for our man immediately! So I thought Id check him up on the net... And... I fell in love! This man is amazing! And I would love to see more if him, he seems to be very talented. So I was wondering, what movie you guys would recomend? Which one is the "must see" Takeshi movie? Hehe And I was also wondering if hes dating anyone at the moment? Or if you could name any of his old girlfriends? I would be really greatful if you could anwser! Well, see ya!

Hello luckystar! Welcome to our forum - i hope you have lots of fun here and look forward to many postings from you! As regards to your question about TK dating, the truth is that he seems to like to keep his private life just that - private. He rarely talks about this kind of thing so it's hard to tell really, we can only pick up teeny snippets from his interviews - i've read in various articles that he dates frequently, that he has someone to 'share dinner and watch movies with', that he hasn't found anyone for whom he'd give it all up, that he is ok with being single and rebuffed the question with 'Would it be strange if i didn't have a girlfriend?!'.. Who knows.. If you look in the 'Only Takeshi!' board on this forum there's a thread called ' TK's rumored girlfriend back in 98 w/photo' that you might be interested in. This is actually something that i admire about TK - he makes a distinction between his job and the rest of his life and won't blur the two. Besides, it makes it all the more fun for alls of us doesn't it? We can fantasise away to our hearts content! Soo, TK's movies... These are the ones i'd recommend to you (besides HOFD):
Returner (funky popcorn flick with TK looking heart-thumpingly good!) Too Tired To Die ( fairly average flick but unique because TK speaks English throughout. yey!) Lavender (very sweet and gentle film. TK plays an angel. How apt!) Sleepless Town (a slick and inky film. Very cool) First Love:The Litter On The Breeze (Quirky and kooky) Odd One Dies Fallen Angels (arty and absorbing. Tk gives a brilliant performance) Anna Magdalena (watch out for the Cross/Zero section in the middle - so cool!)
Yeh.. i like so many of TKs movies! There are tons of earlier ones which are quite different to the more recent ones - most of them are pretty silly but funny anyways. We have a saying in this forum - as long as it has TK in it, it's worth watching! Hope that helps some,
EA x

Thank you sooo much elfinaniki! I admire Takeshi for wanting to keep his private life away from the public too, because, the media etc really doesnt have anything to do with it. I think its good that he doesnt spill it all out to the world. Anyway, I think imma check out Returner! Sounds very interesting hehe Thank you again!

Hey Elfinaniki, I like and respect your quirky originality very much. Besides, having a non-TK avatar adds some more variety on the forum here and certainly doesn't make you any less a TK fan. I'm "keeping" pretty well overall, trying to do some creative stuff but finding myself having a hard time, well, feeling that creative today...I imagine you know how that goes... How goes things with you? Peace and Fun, Swellboy

Hey Elfinaniki, I like and respect your quirky originality very much. Hey SB, Thank you, i'm flattered! Glad to hear that things are rosy for you. Sorry to hear about the 'artists block' - i definitely know the feeling! Try taking some time out to let your mind wander some; Sometimes i find that once you stop actively trying to be creative the inspiration stops hiding itself from you and the ideas come back! Don't worry - i think we all feel more inspired/creative some days than others. Things with me are fine - i've been working on my portfolio myself this afternoon, so i've been having fun getting messy with paint and ink ! I've also been planning my next trip - Russia, Japan, China, Nepal, India and Borneo this time i think - very exciting! Love, EA x

Your upcoming trip sounds quite something! I must say, I myself do not have "the travel bug" like you do. Am admittedly quite a homebody by nature. However, it's travelers like you who bring back wonderful things and ideas to stay-at-homes, such as myself. (I "travel" in other ways, namely through movies and my imagination, which I express through my creativity. I'm too private a person to say here on this forum exactly what my creative outlet is.) Signing off here for the day, and probably the whole week. Cheers, Swellboy
