Here's an interesting story about TK from someone who went to high school with him. To give proper credit, it was posted by polarama at forums.fametracker.com/index.php?showtopic=3868&st=165Below is the text of what polarama wrote: I am fairly certain that Mandarin is his best language, followed by Japanese (maybe Taiwanese), and English being somewhere last. He attended the Japanese school till 9th grade, when he switched over to my high school (the American school). Here's an interesting story that I think will make everyone love him even more:He did a commercial while he was in high school (for kiwi soda, yes, you read that right, kiwi-flavored soda). He was like two steps above an extra in that, it was a bunch of guys who stare at a girl but it's because of her soda. TK walks a dog in it, IIRC.Anyhow, after that, he didn't do anything except occasionaly model, until finally, he stopped showing up at school. Next thing you know, we saw him on some some opera or something and then he was recording an album. According to some of his friends and his girlfriend's friends, his dad, who had been paying his tuition, suddenly stopped doing it. So instead of having his grandparents (who raised him, I believe) try to cough up the dough, he decided to make some money modeling and slowly that kind of took over and he eventually dropped out. He played varsity volleyball and he was pretty good. We considered him pretty manly back then.

Okay, here's more posts from Polarama (sp?) re Takeshi: forums.fametracker.com/index.php?showtopic=3868&st=30 I usually hate it when people name drop, but this time I will have to chime in and say that I went to high school with him. He was 1 or 2 years ahead of me, played volleyball for our high school, and was a very nice guy. He had started doing some local tv commercials at the time, so he was ever so slightly famous and yet still a very nice guy.Oh, and his girlfriend from high school was older than him, and a really nice girl. Not an empty starlet-cheerleader type. I want to say he's 5'10, maybe even 6'. For my high school, he was definitely above average, height-wise. I'm 5'8" (and have been since I was about 14-15), and I remember him being taller than me. <<had he already grown into his (stunning) looks in high school? I ask because from the pictures that I have seen it seems that he is getting better looking with age>> He's hotter now because he looks more grown up--in high school he was already incredibly good looking (even our moms thought so), but now there's an extra dose of manliness or something. I think we tended to think of him as "cute" back then--he looks younger than he is, so in high school that face was quite perfect, but he was "young looking," if that makes any sense
