Am I reading too much into it? I have the five volume graphic novel, "Strain", and the main character's name is Shingo "Mayo" Kusaka. I was looking at the biggest Takeshi picture site that I've seen and saw a picture of him and he reminded me of Shingo. Given that there'd ever be a live-action version of "Strain", could he play Shingo? I'll show you. Shingo: Takeshi: Do I need more sleep?

Not when he's Sammy, though. Onimusha would be in the shounen category (if it were an anime or manga, of course). With his romantic roles, he'd SO be in the shoujo category!! I know where I want to see him-said too much!!

From what I can see, TK looks to me like he could play Shingo from the posted pic of that character. I love it how TK, to me, has a rather androgynous look about him. He's definitely male, but a very pretty man-- a *very* nice look if you ask me. Also, this gives him a great range to work with. He can play up his masculinity in a role, by roughening and scruffing up a bit, or he can soften and emphasize his sensitivity, elegance, and delicateness. It's all right there in TK.

I was just looking through the whole gallery of 700+ pictures of him and I saw that one in particular and he reminded me of Shingo!! They both smoke and have long hair (for the most part, Shingo has his hair long but flashbacks to his childhood, his hair is short). If you can ever find that five volume set, I suggest picking it up.
