Yes. Whether Takeshi is gay or not is none of our business and we won't find out by discussing this matter endlessly. So as other hypothetical topics.

It looks like the question of Takeshi-san's sexuality will never ever die down, whatever or whoever's opinion it may be, until and unless Takeshi-san himself sorts it out. Under the circumstance, I think that it will be a no-win situation either way for him if he were to try to sort it out. Whatever answer he gives, will he be believed ? How is he trying to please the big and varied fan base of his.
It is a wise thing Takeshi-san has decided to keep mum about it.

Hello everyone! I just found this site and am very excited about it. I was reading the forum last night and came across this thread and decided to take a peak to see what was up. I must say I was disappointed in the first part of the following quote: ...We won’t find out if TK is gay or if he’s not. If he is, he wouldn’t be so stupid to tell the world, because that would be the end of his career.... What I’m trying to say…if he’s gay, we won’t find out until he comes out with that. But the “proves”, that reporters are trying to find are made up or useless…and WE won’t find out by discussing this matter endlessly. It’s none of our business anyway. Um, I'm sorry but just because you're gay/straight/bi/poly/pan sexual doesn't mean that your career will suddenly be over. Takeshi will still be Takeshi. He would be himself if he came out of the closet, if he got married, if he continues/ed to stay out of the spotlight, etc. It saddens me that there is still so much stigma associated with such things that are, frankly, no ones business. Which is why I included the second part of that quote because I agree with fuyumi on that point. Live your life the way you want to live it and let others do the same. There are almost 7 billion different ways to have a life and really, only one way will suit you (ie: your way ) Anyway, sorry this wasn't much of a happy happy first post but I had to get that out there. Thanks! And I'll see you guys later

Please be so kind to give me one example of an A-list actor who admitted being gay and kept his status...I think there's only one and that's Leslie Cheung...maybe Rupert Everett...but I'm not quite sure, maybe some of you knows the answer, if theyever played heterosexuell roles after their coming out. If you search through e.g. Wikipedia for gay actors you'll find a lot, but not a single A-list Hollywood actor...except Rock Hudson, Richard Chamberlain and such. They came out as their career was almost over due to their age. So I still stick to my opinion that admiting being gay is still a career killer. You're defenitly "out" what romantic roles or certain advertisments are concerned. And I don't think that's OK but the majority of people is still not open enough. As I wrote before...I think this topic should rest, we won't find a solution in that case and it doesn't really matter to his fans anyway.

All this talk of TK's sexually, what does it really matter? If he's gay or not, we just enjoy his movies and him as fans looking in from the outside. I'm sure we'll love his work all the same.

i agree with media that it doesn't really matter to me whether takeshi's gay or not so long as he's happy.
oh and i've just thought of an extremely successful gay actor: ian mckellen, and another: matt lucas. they're pretty big in britain, nobody minds them being gay.

In TK recent interview in HK in 06 Dec, he declares that he loves “girl”; and he doesn’t get his eye done!!! Please stop spread these kinds of rumor if you are a TK fans.

Hi, this is the first time I'm posting on the web. I'm not exactly a new fan (first saw his movie when I was in 4th grade or so, I don't even remember the movie anymore), but I was never really in tune to TK's news and stuff, except to ocassionally read about him.
To be honest, I was really surprised that there was actually rumours going on questioning TK's sexuality. I seriously would never have guessed because I have always seen him as the ultimate guy, the guy I have always wanted, but never dared to have cause he seems too good to be true.
Personally, I couldn't care less if he was gay or not. I love him and am crazy about him, but his sexuality is his business and we have no right to impose on his private matters. However, realistically, if he is indeed gay, I agree partly to whoever mentioned that it would hurt his career (not exactly kill it, in my opinion, but surely put a big hamper on it)
Why? Let's face it, apart from his acting ability, TK has also enjoyed the perks of his looks and boyish image. When people see him, the first thing they would say is not "wow, he is able to convey his emotion across the screen perfectly" but they would most likely say "omg, he's really good looking". His acting ability then later comes into attention. TK has also been playing the roles of "hero", the male lead, THE guy, and like it or not, his sex symbol image is not merely a figment of one's imagination. He DOES posses such strong sex aura and everybody notices it. Therefore, IF he is gay, and actually comes out, practically all this status he has been developing would crumble to the ground. I am pretty sure than many fans would retreat, and so would producers, the ones who actually have money to hire him.
Having said that, I have to hand it to the guy. He keeps silent (there has been no confirmation or denial from his part so far, am I correct?). Whatever people might say about him, he seems to stay calm and indifferent. And I really admire him for that.
Hopefully, he would soon announce who the girl he loves is. LOL, I feel like one of those grandmas who is just itching to get her grandson someone he could be happy with.

I really appreciated the interview and thanks for the link. However, I don't believe TK actually said girl when questioned. Both the interviewer and TK refer to the right person in a neutral sex. TK did say if he found the right person, he would want to marry. All this implies female.
The way this question was positioned was very clever and opened ended, in case TK wanted to answer with the news that he already had a special someone of whichever sex.

perhaps misscarlos... i totally agree what you said that it has no effect on my view of him, but perhaps if it makes you so angry, you could just stop looking at this page? i agree that the conversation ought to stop, but just for your peace of mind, look away now, if you know what i mean... sorry if i'm interfering where i'm not wanted.
