I was surprised to read that ZZ slept around....she seems so inexperienced in the love scenes in HOFD. The one scene where she finally believes Jin and starts to seduce/ kiss him is down right embarrassing(to me at least)- I have trouble watching that scene because I am embarrassed for her. And in the final love scene in HOFD she seems to not know what to do- her arms fly around and then she turns onto her stomach like she trying to get away... I think TK carries/saves that whole scene.

I'm a guy and I don't find her attractive at all because of her attitude. When I first saw her in Rush Hour 2 I thought she was pretty but there was something about her that just bothered me.

Later I bought a Korean movie called MUSA. Zhang Ziyi is in it and she is a total, how can I say this, B :'(itch in the movie. If you guys see this movie then you will know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, she may look ok on the outside but inside she is ugly and I do not like her anymore. I'd rather go out with a monkey.

She was on the 2005 MTV Movie Awards last night as a presenter along with Paul Walker (The Fast and the Furious) for best screen kiss and wouldn't give him a kiss on stage. She should of given him a peck. She was also nominated for best screen fight, which she lost to Darryl Hannah for her fight with Uma in Kill Bill II. If you want to watch - it will be on MTV all weekend.

Actress Zhang Ziyi was one of hundreds of Chinese stars bombarded with calls this weekend when their mobile phone numbers were posted online.

According to state media, the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon star was forced to forward her flood of incoming calls to mobile service providers.

The numbers of about 600 celebrities appeared on an unnamed website on Saturday, said the Beijing Star Daily.

The list remained online for two days before being deleted.

It is not clear where the numbers came from or who posted them on the website.

Pop star Zhou Yanhong was another of the celebrities affected.

According to his assistant, the popular entertainer received many phone calls and messages, some of which were deemed harassing.

Ziyi, whose other films include House of Flying Daggers and Hero, will next be seen in the film version of bestselling novel Memoirs of a Geisha.

The Beijing-born actress was named best actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards in March for her role in Wong Kar-Wai's drama 2046.

Oh, I get the same sense as you do, Sam. I've felt that way about certain male celebrities too. They look good on the outside, but their attitude is awful, so they end up-- as you put it so well-- looking ugly on the inside. At least going out with a monkey would be more *fun* and entertaining, probably, than ZZ! LOL!

Oh, dear, there I go, breaking my own code of not saying anything bad about a celebrity, even if I happen not to care for them. It seems like there's generally no love lost on ZZ by anyone here on this forum. However, that said, I make no assumptions about this definitely being the case, so my sincere apologies to anyone who is offended by my agreeing with Samanosuke and putting ZZ down.

Seems like she usually plays a mean girl role in most of her movies. Now I'm not sure if she is really nasty in person. So far all the movies I've seen her in and all the articles I've read and stories i've heard lead me to believe that she really is a mean person. There are plenty of other great stars out there who are humble and respectful to others so I'm not going to waste my time following up on Zhang Ziyi anymore.

Sorry to anyone here that I've offended. I read in many movie forums and I know a lot of people who find her hot or admirable. I just can't stand this new actress who thinks she's the best and disrespects veteran movie stars such as Andy Lau and TK.

I first saw her in CTHD, and she was okay, but there was something about her that really bothered me...dunno what it was, she just seemed sort of stuck up...like she does in all off her movies...and now that I've read all of your posts, I dislike her even more...but I can't understand why everyone keeps going on about how beautiful she is and that she is "the most beautiful chinese woman in the world". I mean, come on, there are so many chinese women that are waaaay prettier than her. she's not ugly, but she's not as extraordinary as some people claims she is. WOW I truly thought I was the only one who noticed that!! It was so hard for me to watch, I really felt embarrassed for her. And, I totally agree when you said TK saves all those scenes!

I love HOFD but I would love it even more if Ziyi's character could've been played by some other actress.

There's no other kind of people I dislike the most than disrespectful, conceited people...and omg she's a slut too? That's disgusting. Plus, I HONESTLY don't think she's that great of an actress.

I haven't liked her since day one. She does well in some of her movies and she can portray a kung fu fighter though she is not but all that goodness does not cover up the overwhelming garbage that is underneath.

I am not surprised at anythng bad I've read about her in this thread.

My choice adjective for her is 'Spoiled-Brat-Prima-Donna'.

I think too many people put up with her garbage and I am just waiting for her time to come. True, Hollywad won't stand for her shenanegans for long...... and it will be her own doing!

I slacked on renting HOFD because she was in it! To think, I could have been a TK fan a lot sooner! I agree, they should have cast someone else. I read somewhere (an online article, sorry I suck at references. something to work on!) that it was her movie.....showcasing her.......well, I hardly saw her, I was too busy looking at TK and Andy.....
You know, the way she played blind in this movie really drove me nuts! At first I thought "wow, she does that well" and then after the scene in the field after the last fight with the soldiers and she comes on to Jin I thought 'man, this woman sucks, she is driving me crazy, just cut off her hands!'......I just hate her hands man....lol.....I don't know what it is........they're ugly or something!! She totally sucked in that scene......she was all stiff and shite. So what if she's playing blind, did she have to be so stiff about it? He was sitting there all emotional (and doing it very well) and she gets all wooden on the man....she wrecked that scene for me totally....

I don't usually take time to slap at someone but she just rubs me the wrong way and in a big way. She rides that nerve.......

I guess I'm in the minority here. I actually like Zhang Ziyi (well... not sure if I like her so much after hearing all the posts...). I think she's a good actress. I'm not sure why she's done the things she does but we'll never really know.

Look at the following quote she said about her competitors, mainland actress ZhaoWei, and how ZhaoWei reponse to it in 2001.

An interesting fact-ZhaoWei took entrance exam fro both ShangHai Central Academy and Beijing Academy, she was accepted at both school. ZhaoWei chose Beijing Film Academy because she received highest exam score.


In meet ZhaoWei in 2000 in US when she act as guest star for Leon Lai concert. ZhaoWei is very friendly and down to earth person, totally different from ZZY when i run into her in China during promotion of Hero.
