Was at a dinner party recently in NYC and one of the guests just happened to work at the Tribeca Grand Hotel on Church & Walker. ZZ stayed there last year when she was in town doing promotional work for some beauty product. Apparently she was cold, imperious and had her nose so high in the air she was in serious danger of getting altitude sickness.
NYC is not a place to be pulling this type of diva crap, especially when you’re not exactly well known and other major stars who’ve stayed at the hotel have been gracious and friendly w/ staff.

I didn't realize ZZ was that despised in HK. The woman who works at the Tribeca doesn't have an agenda against ZZ - she didn't even know who ZZ was so for ZZ to behalf so badly with staff or with anyone for that matter speaks volumes about the type of person she is.
And if she's as nasty as she seems to be, she really needs to be brought down several pegs.
Basically the woman needs to go to "AA" (Attitude Adjustment). LOL

ZZ just remind me so much of J Lo. She has the same attitude as J Lo.
I just read from one of her recent interview during her shooting of Geisha that she want to stay in US now. We will see her more on this side of the world.

Man don't get me started on Zhang Ziyi... I'll probably write a book. Let me just say that her reputation in Asia (ok this isn't fair... maybe in HK, Taiwan and China, within all the Chinese communities) is very bad. Everyone knows she is Miss. Biatch with an attitude, she is a "Hollywood star", she's all that and she dates the grandson of one of the weathiest families from Hong Kong. The HK press is pretty bad... they're well known for it... but Zhang Ziyi deserves to be treated like that. This girl is definitely not humble. Honestly, she isn't a bad actress but her off-screen personality is what people dislike about her. The HK press now calls her "International superstar" literally with the quote on quote 'cause she thinks she is huge now, she's "made it" in Hollywood. She doesn't give a damn to whoever she's working with because she is the notorious Zhang Ziyi. A while ago she liked to speak her broken English to the Chinese press while she was asked questions in Chinese. That's how a "Hollywood star" should act like, huh? That cracks me up. She's been rude to Andy Lau in public, in front of all the reporters and press in one of the press conferences for HOFD in HK (or was it China... somewhere over there). They were being seated, Andy was just being polite and held her hand... like leading her to the seat. She literally flung his hand off before everyone's eyes. It was caught on cameras and made it to the gossip magazines. Just a couple weeks ago in HK, there was a film award ceremony. She got the award of Best Actress and Tony Leung (from 2046) got Best Actor. They held their awards for the press to take photos. Zhang Ziyi had this "I'm too good for this", "I don't want to be here" face on.. wasn't smiling or anything. She didn't have respect for the award, for Tony, for anyone... I should show you guys those photos. When you see that look on her face you know what I'm talking about. I said I didn't want to get started on this Missy but I've already written a lot?! Most interviews, reports and articles in the States about Zhang Ziyi tend to be good while almost all the reports in the Chinese language about her is bad... she just isn't a favorite of most Chinese people. She may seem like a sweetheart because of her looks but she has a hell lot of attitude... oh well, unless all the reports are lies and the photos are all fake

Boy this girl sounds NASTY! If she continues on this road of bad behavior, it won't be long til the American press gets wind of this. The ones who really make it big and are smart, know it's due to their fans and treat them accordingly. A friend just gave me this website: www.bitterwaitress.comwhich is full of stories of the good, the bad and the ugly behavior of celebs. Especially loved the one of Ron Howard who was appropriately put in his place. Good for a laugh.

I couldn't resist posting this but I found the following comments attributed to Zhang (link: www.hkentreview.com/2004/july/0707to0709/0707to0709ex.html):"At first, I was worried that he (Wong Kar-Wai) would cut out all of my scenes! Because I had very little time to prepare for the film, I could only rely on my most natural expressions to portray the character even though the role is very heavy and very serious. For HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS, it was a lot easier. The character called for me to be very proud, very regal. It was easier for me to handle." I think the 2nd to last sentence says it all if she's as difficult as people says she is. She should have also included "petulant".

maybe she is threatened by men like andy lau and tony leung who garner so much attention and really are the center of attention. i read somewhere that there was a rumor that she had had an affair with andy lau, and also jackie chan, as well as yimou zhang. that's a lot of men! EXACTLY!!!! She did that to Andy in that press conference because Andy was more popular! He had a hell lot more fans and Miss. International Superstar was pissed! Of course Andy caught more attention... he's Andy Lau, this man is huge all over Asia. Tony Leung, we don't have to say much either... it's Tony Leung dammit. These two men aren't having attitudes then who does this little missy thinks she is? I know a friend whose cousin went to the same school with Zhang Ziyi just before she was selected to do Croughing Tiger. Heard that she was already well known as "the slut" in school. She slept around. She wasn't really a very out-standing student but was a good a s s-kisser to the teachers. Yes there were rumors about her having an affair with Jackie Chan and Zhang Yi Mou... but not Andy Lau right? I have never heard of that. Andy doesn't have much scandals... except in recent years his former girlfriend (some former actress) keeps selling her "stories" to the tabloids how she wants to get back together with him and wants to have a baby with him... I'm not even sure if this is really a scandal. This woman is just crazy. They've broken up like 20 years ago and she's been trying to get her name attached to Andy's so that she can be famous!! I guess that's the down side of being so popular and famous... people just won't let you go.

That's why she got part in Rush Hour 2 and Yimou kept taking her as leading actress which her acting is nothing to compare to Gong Li or Meggie Cheng. Beside that, she's been blagging about HOFD was easier compare to 2046 coz the script was for her. I see now why HOFD not as success as Hero coz Yizi doesnt have what Jet Li has as a big star. And in turn HOFD is just to debut TK to west.
Not just Yizi was rude to Andy Lau but she's also rude to TK in Korea HOFD promo too. TK was too gentleman, he still said the good thing about her in the interview when was asked about her.
I heard that she is fighting for the role with Zhou Wei in Prequal CTHD. As the history, she may win if she can get Ang Lee to bed with her.

oh, don't be coy! tell us what she did. he really is such a gentleman. also, it fits his astrological sign: his type doesn't like conflict and are always the peacemakers. they will let offenses slide, usually, just for the sake of keeping the peace. I didnt remember the line when I posted so I left out the detail. At Korea promo, the reporter asked TK what was the line in HOFD left him the most impression. With no reason before TK could answer ZZ said TK's line in the movie "I teach you to feel from the head downwards and you kept feeling from the bottom upwards" TK didnt anwer to her just pause a little and said to the reporter. It should be "I came back for one person". Who she think she is, Miss international or Miss Hollywood? She showed no respect to Andy Lau or TK at all. In asia, Andy Lau and TK were both very popular long before she could get any part in any movie. And in every promo interview when TK was asked about both of his costar in HOFD, he always said he respect both of them.

From his reaction in the pic, it could be. OMG! look what this b**ch did to poor TK. For some reason I didnt see this particular pic before til you mentioned.
The story I told came from gossip column w/o any pic which they title as "ZZ sex talk silence TK". They also memtioned that she looked radiant in Korea promo after stayed the night with that HK millionare's grandson webmaster mentioned.

From Time magazine: 100 Most Influential People
Reported by Richard Corliss
Ziyi Zhang: China's gift to Hollywood
"The first impression is of a China doll, porcelain pretty, fragile to the touch. It takes a moment to see the resolve in Ziyi Zhang's perfect posture, the ardor in a gaze with laser intensity. The little princess she played in Ang Lee's "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", the movie that introduced her to world audiences, had a sense of drama: a girlish petulance that ripened into mature strength, a will growing steelier before our eyes.
The Beijing native was 20 then. At, 26, she has finessed that early promise inot a resume unmatched by any other actress her age. She was the feisty student in love with her master in the worldwide hit "Hero", then the renegade kung-fu femme in "House of Flying Daggers", executing devious martial artistry. Both films were directed by her discoverer Zhang Yimou.
She played a prostitute in Wong Kar-wai's "2046" (to be open in the US in August), in which, aswirl in a flutter of erotic pouts and surrendering smiles, she outdazzled such beguilers as Faye Wong and Gong Li. Having done superb work for the top auteurs of all three Chinas, Zhang had no industry left to conquer but Hollywood-which she may have done by snagging the title role in "Memoris of a Geisha", produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Oscar winner Rob Marshall (Chicago). It's due out in December.
We're not sure why a Chinese actress was cast as the ultra-Japanese heroine in a movie of Arthur Golden's best seller. The producers must have thought, as we do, that Zhang can inhabit any character with passionate plausibility. She has an ambition that the previous all-China film fatale lacked. Gong Li was happy to stay in the East; she got married, took a few roles. Zhang quickly learned English, came West and, after four years of international renown, flipped her name from Zhang Ziyi to Ziyi Zhang.
Can Zhang achieve Western stardom? She would be the first Chinese-born actress to do so. But we wouldn't bet against the slim charmer whose dreams are as big as her aweinspiring talent."
She's playing a Japanese woman in "Memoirs of a Geisha". I dunno about the rest of you, but she IS Chinese and doesn't look Japanese at all. I can't really see her pull off being Japanese.
Takeshi being mixed Asian, can pull of playing Chinese on one role and Japanese in another role. That's me, anyway.

She really is a nasty person. She looks like my ex-girlfriend too. I'm beginning to dislike my ex just because of ZZ. Takeshi should have never had to work along side her. Takeshi deserves to be around the nicest people.
