long story about my brief encounter with randy orton.
this past saturday was very eventful and possibly one of the happiest days of my life....well besides my wedding day and the day i had my kids....anyway, on saturday i met randy orton, he's a prowrestler with the wwe. i've been watching wrestling on and off since my childhood days, but i've become a huge randy orton fan in the last year. many....or maybe all you don't know who he is, but i'm still floating somewhere on cloud nine and i just felt like sharing such a positive experience.
this past weekend was wrestlemania weekend in chicago and the superstars were doing signings and promotions around the area....in case you don't know what wrestlemania is, it is the superbowl of wrestling.
i drove 6 1/2 hours and stood outside in the cold for roughly two hours to see this man. i belong to a randy forum and some of the gals from the board were there too so i got to meet and hang out with them. me and my sis-in-law got there at 10 am and met up with the girls who were already in line....so we cheated and cut in, oh well.....i think we finally got to see randy at about 12:30 cause when we came out is was nearly 1 pm.
my sis was in front of me so she went and got her pic signed and shook randy's hand then when he was done he turn toward me and although he was talking to the security people around him and fanning himself, he was looking straight at me. omg!! he is so beautiful...simply breathtaking. i swear i nearly fainted. i was like 'omg! he's looking right at me!!' i just smiled and tried to keep from toppeling over. he looked a bit tired and he was probably warm...it was a bit stuffy in the store.
when it was my turn to go up and meet him, the publicist took my one item to be autographed, and handed it to him. i walked up toward the table and as soon as he finished signing and looked straight into my eyes, i lost it....i just know i had a goofy smile on my face. my knees literally felt like jello....i'm not even sure how i was able to get my words out without stuttering. i said "hi" and extended my hand out and he shook my hand and said "hi, how are you?" i said " i'm good, how are you? he answered "i'm great, thank you" and i think i said "you're welcome" and that was it.
we were all very rushed and security was tight....they allowed only one item to be autographed and no posing with him, so i was disappointed about that....i would've traded the autograph for a picture anyday, considering i already had his autograph. and i'm such a dork, i totally forgot to wish him a happy birthday....it was his 26th b-day also.
considering he probably wasn't in the best mood, he was still a total sweetheart to everyone...looked everyone in the eyes, smiled and shook their hands. i'm still disappointed about not getting a picture with him, but there's always a next time. my hubby's not into wrestling but he said he would go with me next time.
anyway that's my randy story....maybe one day i'll have one to tell of takeshi and tackey. ;D ;D
here are pics from the signing. my friend ashlynn got one with me in it when randy was signing my photo, i'll post that one when i get it from her.
