Seriously, Gigi Leung can't act for sh*t. In fact I don't think she's good at anything that she is doing - she is a singer but can't sing either. What is going on?!
I like the idea of the movie (based on a bestseller with the same title) you know all that "even parallel lines will meet someday" thing. The idea is beautiful but this movie didn't turn out right. It's dreadful to me at times - from mid way it started to drag. It could've been better. The secondary characters weren't in the original book. They were created to add more twists and turns to the movie... but they were quite awful. The last scene when the wall fell down, TK and Gigi found that they lived next door to each other - that was FUNny but I bet it wasn't meant to be.

"Fallen Angel", I think TK was brilliant in it. Also "First Love Litter on the Breeze". It's a very very strange movie though but it's one of my favs.

I've never seen Chungking Express. I've been hesitant ever since Quentin Tarantino released it in the states and put is ugly mug on the cover.

Well.... i'd hate to ask this... but in the movies Takeshi has done, which ones have good love scenes? I mean, not porno or anything, but the two that I have seen the romance is so dulled I have had a hard time believing the love they have for each other.
I guess my question is, which ones have good romance?

Honestly I don't know which one is "good" but if you wanna see TK getting some, you can check out Sleepless Town (wild ride with Mirai Yamamoto, female nudity). His other movies have love scenes too but I'd say they're minor compare to this one... Maybe it would be eye-popping for you. Takeshi's character is quite different from other ones that he has played. In the story, sex is supposed to be the only thing that connects Ryuu Kenichi (TK) and Natsumi (Mirai). So you get the idea... If you didn't want "porno" sorta thing, then I guess the love scene with Kyoko Fukada in "God please give me more time" is my pick for the most romantic one. It's very soft and light but you can feel that the characters had love for each other. They "made love", not just "sex for pleasure". The scene I'm talking about is in episode 9 or 10... when Keigo (TK) returned to Japan from the States and met Masaki (Kyoko) again.

You want it? I got it. If you guys are looking for his movies (the rare ones too) please e-mail me !!!!!!!!!!!!!! An Asian friend of mine can find it for me but I live in Canada so the DVDs in Asia don't work over here. I read up on "Turn Left, Turn Right" and I've wanted to see it ever since. Plus, I LOVE the violin!! (and I recently took a picture of myself wearing my Slayer t-shirt)

You can get his films in any Chinatown video store and they work on the DVD players in North America. That's where I picked up mine. However, the quality isn't always the best but when you're only paying $6-$10, who can complain?

I can't belive no one has mentioned "The Odd One Dies" as one of TK's best movies.
The most obvious reason that TOOD (The Odd One Dies) is so good is because TK is in 95% of all the scenes. And he's soooo cute! Especially in the scene where he's looking to buy a car and ignores the car saleman until he gets interested in the salesman's ancient cell phone. TK then grabs the phone & absurdly poses with it in wacky ways - that scene is priceless!
Also, there's a lot of romantic chemistry between him & female co-star, Carmen Lee. THere's even a love/sex scene - tastefully done, though.
Check TOOD out - it's really funny! TK hardly talks that much in it but he makes a big impression. It shows you how much he can really act & it's a shame that more people don't see this movie. Plus, it proves a movie with just TK is definitely worth watching!

I've never seen Chungking Express. I've been hesitant ever since Quentin Tarantino released it in the states and put is ugly mug on the cover. oh honey, SCREW tarantino!! go rent CE! ya gotta. it is classic takeshi-goodness. i just watched it tonight for the 3rd time and it's still wonderful to me. he was soooooo young. just rewind through the first 5 minutes or so which is creepy tarantino babbling about asian cinema, then you'll get to the actual movie. it's in 2 parts, the first part stars takeshi and the second part is no more takeshi. it's two stories but the characters intersect just a little bit.

In the special features section of "Turn Left, Turn Right" there is an interview with the lead actors but there are no English subtitles. Can anyone provide a translation of what TK and GL are saying?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An Asian friend of mine can find it for me but I live in Canada so the DVDs in Asia don't work over here. I read up on "Turn Left, Turn Right" and I've wanted to see it ever since. Plus, I LOVE the violin!! (and I recently took a picture of myself wearing my Slayer t-shirt) You can also buy an ALL-REGION DVD player, they are often sold online by websites that sell Asian movies. They're relatively inexpensive, less than $200 I think. These all-regions DVD players are especially useful when you have different region codes for different parts of the world: US (region 1), HK (region 3) Japan (region 2) China (region 6). Or, if you're really cheap - like me, you can do what I did so I could watch Turn Left, Turn Right, I used my computer which also plays DVDs. All you have to do is change the Region code that the computer reads. But I think you can only change the region code 4 times or something & then afterwards, you're stuck with the last region change. So be careful. Ok, please don't hurt me as I'm ole & feeble, but did anyone else think TK was kinda bland in Turn Left Turn RIght? Maybe Gigi Leung gave TK her "blandness" disease. I was highly disappointed with this movie. I have to realize that I need to turn my expectation knob down to zero when Gigi is involved in ANY project.
