Synopsis: Using heavenly icons and mystical antics, "Lavender" explores the aftermath of lost love and the conquest to reestablish happiness after tragedy. "Lavender" is pure fantasy, and every woman's deepest dream - especially for the fact that Hong Kong/Japanese heartthrob Takeshi Kaneshiro is under the wings. "Lavender" focuses on a naive fallen angel (Takeshi Kaneshiro) who accidentally crash lands on the apartment balcony of Athena (Kelly Chen), a young woman who lives alone and runs a small aromatherapy shop (in which the "lavender" scent mirrors the film's title). The Angel, who calls himself "Angelo" tells the dumfounded Athena that he will return to Heaven once the "door" opens up. In the meantime, Angelo talks Athena into letting him stay at her place until the time comes for his return. When Athena tells him that she can't afford to support his existence, Angelo assures her that all he needs his "love" to survive. As Angelo gets to know Athena, he discovers a depression within her heart, due to a boyfriend who had recently passed away. With this known, Angelo goes on a mission to fulfill happiness and love into Athena's life. Review taken from cityonfire.com

One of my least favorite - this movie is really boring It's not touching, romantic, whatsoever... there's no chemistry between Kelly and TK. They were better in "Lost and Found" but not this one.

All I can say about this film is, if you're going to steal from Wim Wender's "Wings of Desire" do it properly!!!

i like his face in the tub and on the massage table. takeshi looks so sweet when he's in a state of satisfaction. just like the scene in CE when he was eating the pineapple. is this 'lavender' movie really an asian re-make of wim wender's masterpiece? hollywood did one, too--i forget the name (well, it's an extremely forgettable movie) but it has meg ryan and nicolas cage. it's very silly and stupid. some things should not be re-made. the original is such genius.

I thought this movie was sweet and sentimental. TK looks very darling and loveable here and that's the best reason to watch any movie he's in.

Overall this was a pretty good flick. Definitely worth multiple viewings...with plenty of rewind, freeze frame, and slow mo opportunities! I don't think anyone can nail innocence and naivete better than TK.

I'd like to see this movie only because TK looks so beautiful in it, and his natural sensuality seems nicely played up. I could care less about the story and anyone else in it.

Perfect role for him because I think Takeshi is the epitome of an angel! What did you guys think of the pole dancing? Really sexy--in a naively cute kind of way, don't you think? Of course--as with most Takeshi movies--the co-star hardly measures up as far as acting is concerned. Too bad, it could've been a great movie if there was more romance and chemistry involved with Takeshi and Kelly.

So true, so true, Jadedragon!! I loved the pole dancing scene. I thought it was hilarious! But I had a hard time viewing TK's character as sexy in this movie. His performance kinda falls under the category of "adorably goofy" for me. Don't get me wrong, he definitely "looked" sexy, but he didn't really seem to "act" sexy. Does that make sense?
