Ok everybody let's have a break!!!... Don't you have the feeling that you are forgetting something? No? Are amnesic!? You have forgoten the best movie: "Fallen Angels"... all right, you've mention it a few times but he deserves his place on this board. Remember: "Fallen Angels"= Wong kar Wai + Takeshi... W.O.N.G K.A.R W.A.I... T.A.K.E.S.H.I K.A.N.E.S.H.I.R.O... It 's maybe the best character that Takeshi ever performed. I know you love Takeshi but let's also talk about cinema: here is some pure cinema! In this movie Takeshi seems not to worry at all about is look it doesn't use his "sex symbol" side and he proves how astounding a performer he can be and demonstrate all "fantasy", madness, sens of humour, derision, poetry, sensitivity... OK I'm loosing control when I talk about "Fallen angels" because it's through this movie that I came to love Takeshi and because to me first of all he is a good actor before being a gorgeous man! In fact in this movie one can see what makes Takeshi unique: "Weird","special", "Strange", "Funny", "secret", Wild"... Subtitle in french... of course I'M FRENCH... if you want to now more about me blondie2takeshi.blogspot.com/

Yes "Fallen Angel" is one of my fav TK movies (besides "First Love Litter on the Breeze"... I happen to like his weirdest movies) Takeshi was very loose in this movie... I agree that he wasn't trying to look all pretty and dreamy... not trying to impress audience with his sexy side but with something else. That kind of awkward innocence was only unique to him. He was weird and yet sweet... plus you could tell he was just having mad fun! It's kinda sad that he's not able to make films like "Fallen Angel" or "First Love.." anymore nowadays, in my personal opinion. He's grown mature and that good'o sweetness, freshness are somehow gone... I mean imagine him making a weird movie like "First Love.." again right now... the whole atmosphere would be different. He probably can't do it anymore... that feeling is gone. The truth is, I miss the old Takeshi. He wasn't as guarded (mainly because he wasn't as big of a star as he is now?) He was more friendly, innocent and was such a sweet guy. You could see "hope" or "I wonder what's out there?!" kind of things looking through his eyes when he was younger. Nowadays he definitely looks a lot hotter than ever... he is madly good-looking! However, you don't see that cuteness or just being goofy Takeshi making weird a s s films anymore...

I have yet to this particular movie and just reading the sudtitles, those are odd literal English translations. I translated them in my head.
The first one isn't: Stop!! Turn yourself
Then it gets odd.

you're right the first one is " stop, turn around" the 2nd : "i wast just like in a store" the 3rd : "but to who send my videos ?" Please dont freak out, seems there's another french girl spying on the forum... that would be me I have to agree... takeshi was absolutely astonishing in that the movie, ever more consedering the fact that he doesn't have a single line in that part... Can't we all remain teenagers forever ? I guess not ! But this particular movie surely deserves to be on the top list of TK's movies...

Good golly, gee wiz. You mean that Fallen Angels was never on the Movie Talk section? I never noticed that! FA is definitely his quintessential movie. This would be the movie that I recommend anyone interested in TK to see first. My favorite TK movie is "The Odd One Dies" but mostly for personal reasons - it's so wacky I would recommend it to friends & TK fans. Followed by HOFD (it's so romantic), which I would recommend to women & TK fans. But FA, my #3 TK movie, is the one I would tell everyone to see. It's just that good. IMHO, Fallen Angels is the most complete of all TK's movies. Everything about it - not just TK - is good. From the impossibly beautiful cast, to the exaggerated cinematography, memoriable soundtrack, to the bittersweet tale of love found and lost and the life after. Yet the one thing that pushes it from being just a beautiful stylish movie into a movie that demands repeated watching is Takeshi. He gives the movie its depth & soul and he's the character that you remember when the movies done. FA also has the best ending I've ever seen ... it just lifts my spirits everytime I see it. It's wonderful.

I abso-freakin'-lutely LOVE this movie!! Takeshi proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he truly has talent. It's not easy to make people laugh, but he does just that...without saying a word. I really like the scene where he locked his father in the bathroom and then fell asleep. HI-larious! Before I saw the movie, I thought that a little something would be taken away from TK's performance. However, he was so captivating in the role that I didn't even focus on the fact that he wasn't speaking.

This is one great movie!!--Thanks to the Webmaster!! I enjoyed this one a lot--especially the scene where he quietly sniffs and moves around Charlie Yeung's character--while she (darn!) didn't even acknowledge his existence--in that scene! He was absolutely the cutest! Webmaster is so right about TK having lost his boyish innocence and appeal. Granted, he is a super hottie right now--but, there is something about his innocent sexiness(for want of a better word) during his 20's--which I think we can only catch occassional glimpses of today --fom some mannerisms and facial expressions.

Fallen Angels is definitely a classic- one to actually own. There are so many great scenes- too many to mention....but the scene where TK keeps watching the videos of his Dad after he died really touched me. And of course TK (with a big grin on his face) riding the pig will forever stick in my mind. He is such a ham/ goof in this movie- I love it!!

Wow! Sounds like a very good film. I haven't seen Fallen Angels yet eventhough I own it already. I got this movie at the same time that I got the movie OLDBOY. I watched Oldboy first and that movie left me in awe...........and this was weeks ago. I'm still in awe of Oldboy. That's why I havent watched Fallen Angels yet. I want my mind to be clear when I watch Fallen Angels but all I can think about is how awesome Oldboy is.

I just watched Fallen Angels and TK is just so damed cute that I want to die. I love that he can be sexy, cute and goofy all at once. He massages a pig, forced people to eat ice cream and pretends to be chocking to death on a deli case. Too great. This and Chungking Express make me want to see other things Wong Kar Wai has done. I really recommend CE and FA to anyone.

Oh I couldn't agree more! I was in tears so many times with this movie, be it from laughing at his pig massaging or when he watched the video of his father. I LOVE this movie, LOVE it!!! I was fortunate enough to purchase several movies at once through eBay, but this was my first to watch of the bunch - good choice!
If there are TK fans out there who have not seen this movie yet, DO SO NOW! You'll be absolutely amazed at this movie. And as someone else stated, I now have a yearning to see more WKW films.
LOVED IT!
