Chinky Eyes: I agree with you that TK would have been ideal for the lead in CT, HD. In fact, I was in some brief denial recently when I thought it actually was TK and not that other guy (who did a very competent job in the role, imho, but he's simply not the great TK! ), whose name I have forgotten-- and actually don't care if I never remember it. No offense meant to anyone who might happen to really like that particular actor.

I thought in Too Tired To Die, the story was quite similar. But TK was the person who's going to die while Brad was Death himself in MJB. Anyway, TTTD didn't have interesting plots as MJB.

The guy who was in CTHD is Taiwanese actor, Chang Chen. He's also in Wong Kar Wai's 2046 & Happy Together & Chinese Odyssey 2002 (WKW production). Basically he's replaced TK as WKW's young, non-Tony Leung IT boy. He's kinda brooding, skinny fellow ... he'll simmer where TK blazes. I'll take the fire over the sizzle anytime! ;D

Chang Chen, that's right. Yeah, he sizzles next to TK, who smoulders and sparks! TK: The ever-smouldering, scintillating man of the cinema! *Sigh*

I believe this movie predates TK's entrance into the entertainment biz, but I think he could make a very convincing Pu Yi in "The Last Emperor." TK has a knack for playing innocents. And that's essentially what Pu Yi was. Someone so sheltered from the outside world that when he was forced into it, he didn't know how to react. I loved John Lone in the role (he was the first Asian actor I had a crush on), but I think TK could absolutely nail it! Is it too early for a remake?

"Takeshi Kaneshiro and Orlando Bloom are both so beautiful and multi-talented. They should be in a film together." --Anon.Hey I'm new but I've been a Takeshi fan for AGES! I agree that Orlando & Takeshi are probably... *thinks* the fittest actors in the world It would never happen but... I just WISH they could be in the same film.

[glow=orange,2,300]You're right... it'll never happen but there's no harm in dreaming. Strangely though... I think there're some similar aspects to both men. Is it just me who thinks that? [/glow]

Nope, Pinstar. You aren't the only one. My sister said right away that she thought Takeshi and Orlando were very similar. I've heard others on line say the same as well. I really, really like both actors, but personally I don't see the similarity.

Hehe it's funny you say that - I used to have pictures of Orlando & Takeshi where they're both wearing black jumpers & look v.similar. Not sure where that is anymore though...

I used to have pictures of Orlando & Takeshi where they're both wearing black jumpers & look v.similar. Not sure where that is anymore though... Maybe you'll find those pics someday, Pinkstar. I'd love to have pics like that of those two fine men. I personally don't see much similarity between TK and Orli (Orlando's nickname, like "Aniki" is for TK), except that they both have slender builds and a sensitivity and sensual expressiveness (though in different ways which I find difficult to describe in words). Actually, I just read that Orli considers himself Buddhist too, though I don't know which sect. Anyway, to me, the two are both wonderfully different, beautiful, talented actors. I know we need to stay focused on TK on this forum that's just for him (and us fans of his)-- which is as it should be. Also, I fear that someone(s) may soon post something harshly negative (as opposed to politely stating, for example, that they "just don't care for him") about Orli, not to mention any other actor/celebrity mentioned. I personally don't want to see any more of that here. It feels disrespectful, as I've stated before on other threads. Fortunately, I haven't seen any new posts like that lately, so I am thankful to any and all of you for not posting things that are bashing in tone about some other actor that I and/or a few others happen to like, but that you don't. However, it is fun, and only natural, to briefly mention and discuss other actors on this forum now and then. Peace, Swellboy
