I'm surprise no one wrote about this movie. I really like it a lot. The ending was sad but the movie was quite funny. Ken Watanabe is in it too. He's the Samurai leader from The Last Samurai. Hmmmm..... they should have had Takeshi play the part of Nobutada in that movie.

Anyway, people who haven't seen this movie should give it a viewing.

here come a perso to give a comment. It's a nice movie, very cute, funny, and enjoyable although the ending is pretty sad for a light and funny like it.

every character is cool.

I liked that fact that the characters in movie took on and played out the characters from on of the 'bank robbers' comic book! Takeshi was so apropos as Hayabusa Jetter, don't you think??

First part of film was funny & poignant but second half really dragged. Too many wordy confessionals from the secondary characters on how the hostage situation has altered their perspectives; felt it could have been done much more subtlely. However, liked the ending - reminded me of "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" where they went out w/ their guns blazing.

Don't know if others felt the same but I was rather taken aback by the scenes with the party celebrants in afros and blackface.

I ordered Space Travelers thru Blockbusters on-line and got the Animation version ( supposedly this all they have..)- arghh! So I'm still looking for the REAL Space Travelers flick....
It was bad/sad- I was all excited that I got another TK movie to watch and put it in the DVD player... and cartoons- Drats!!

I just found and ordered Space Travelers on VCD. I'm a little nervous about that, having never bought or viewed one. Anyway it wasn't that expensive if it doesn't work. I'm still interested if anyone has any info re my posting above.

Hey-Windysgirl! The movie is only available in Region 3 as of the moment. I'm pretty sure a Region 1 version will be coming out soon due to Takeshi's popularity. Oh--and the VCD version? I've got one, too, and it plays really well in your regualr DVD player or computer. The quality is pretty good--of course, not as sharp as a DVD--but, still good just the same. The only other thing is it comes in 2 discs. Hope this helps

Hey Tatiana - of course I'll let you know that I found the VCD of "Space Travelers" at yesasia.com. It was only 7.99 before tax and shipping, I think the total came to $10.38. Pretty reasonable I think.

We'll have to talk about the movie after we've both seen it.

Hi Jadedragon - thanks for the reassurance about VCD's. I feel better about my purchase. When I got home last night I pulled out all the books for my 2 dvd players and portable dvd player to make sure they would play VCDs and thank goodness they all do.

Next time I need to replace a player, I'm definitely going to purchase an all region player though.

this website shows you how to program your dvd player to play any region in the world. Not all dvd players can be program but you never know, maybe yours will work. It's not hard, no modifications required to the hardware. All you do is enter in some codes using your dvd remote.

I programed my dvd player and now I dont have to worry about what region movie I buy. Space Travelers is region 3 and I was able to watch it thanks to that website.
