New movie? Takeshi will be bald - what do you guys think? Has anyone else heard of this movie? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Takeshi Kaneshiro, Andy Lau and Jet Li in new movieThere has been news about Hong Kong director Peter Chan is going to remake “The Bloody Brothers,” a 1973 epic movie directed by the late Zhang Cheh. It’s said that Peter is inviting superstars Takeshi Kaneshiro, Andy Lau and Jet Li to star in the movie. No official statement was made yet, but if it’s true, this will be an interesting movie based on the cast itself. Peter Chan is one of Hong Kong most sort after director, his movie “Perhaps Love” won international acclaimed and was a box office hit. One problem though, as the story was based on Ching Dynasty, the main actors will have to shave their head. It will probably be easy for Jet Li who has acted in numerous Ching Dynasty movies, Andy Lau is known for making sacrifices for the name of art.. but Takeshi Kaneshiro? It will be a huge thing for Takeshi to shave his head, his long hair is sort of his trademark as well. I wonder if he’s ready to make such a great leap just for the movie. Andy Lau and Takeshi have previously worked together in movie “The House of the Flying Daggers” that starred Zhang Ziyi as well. Jet Li has never worked with Andy or Takeshi. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [glow=red,2,300]M[/glow] ________________________________________ because he dreams in Japanese.....

If he does shave his head, it won't take long for his hair to grow back.
If he is indeed slated to be in the movie, I wanna see him bald.

I could see Takeshi-san going bald but only if the script is good. Wow, that would mean his trademark sexy sideburns gotta go

Hello, I read the above article and am really excited by the idea that Takeshi is making another movie so soon. There was one inaccuracy though. Takeshi and Jet Li have appeared together. It was in “Dr. Wai and the Scripture with No Words”. Jet Li is an author with writer’s block and an adventurer. Takeshi plays his bumbling assistant, Shing. It’s funny and has a lot of action.
I don’t know much about the plot of Bloody Brothers except what was posted here but it got me to thinking. Which actor would play which brother? I can’t see Takeshi as the governor because he is the youngest of the three. I could see him as the brother seeking revenge but I bet Jet Li would want that role. There is probably a lot of action scenes involved. That leaves. OH NO! The brother who is killed! I don’t want to see Takeshi die but I can’t see Andy Lau again playing a smaller role in a movie with Takeshi like in “Flying Daggers”. Since this brother is married, it would allow for some romantic scenes for Takeshi which is a real plus. What does everyone think? I’d love to hear other people’s ideas. It was fun to speculate.
Bye for now, Mary

Hmmm so you're saying for Takeshi-san, most likely the roles for him would be either the revengeful brother or gets killed brother. Which brother character is more complex? My guess is Takeshi-san would go for that one as he seems to like to challenge himself. What do you all think?

Hi, The three actors they are suggesting are all superstars in Asia. Which one has the most popularity? That actor would probably get his choice of role. My guess is the brother seeking revenge is the most complex. One of his brothers has died and now he must kill his other brother. How did the three of them turn out to be different people? I can never see Takeshi playing a truly evil person. His characters always have a good, sensitive side to them. That's what people like about him. It doesn't seem like an act but part of his true person.

Hi I think that it would be interesting to see TK taking on a character that walks on the dark side. Maybe he is looking for something new not the good guy he usually plays. He did say he wants do more movies.

Bye for now, Mary Konnichiwa Mercedes, You are right - Aniki did do a movie with Jet Li "Dr. Wai..." One of the movies I have, but am unable to understand because the subtitles go by so quickly. So I gave up.... I forgot when I first posted the information. Takeshi-san is a great actor and would do well in any role. Just as long as he is not the one that is killed off. Please !!! I am also excited that he is doing another movie so quickly - I can't wait... I'm sure he'll play the sensitive type role. I couldn't see him as an evil character - though I'd like to see him do it, as I'm sure he'd find it challenging. We'll have to wait and see.... I'm going to continue to see if I find more information on this movie. I'll keep u guys posted. Here is some more information:
Jet Li is one of the Blood Brothers? Jet Li will star in a remake of the classic Shaw Bros. actioner “Blood Brothers”, according to Monkey Peaches.
Director Peter Chan is said to be in talks with Li, as well as Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro, to play the film’s brothers.
The 1973 original was set in the waring years of the Ching dynasty and fixed on a jealous provincial governor who kills his friend in order to steal the man's wife.
Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro for Peter Chan's CHI MA Remake (MonkeyPeaches Exclusive) Chi Ma An unknown source claims that director Peter Chan intends to cast Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro as the three leads in his remake of Hong Kong master martial-art film director Chang Cheh's Shaw Bros. classic Chi Ma (aka. Blood Brothers / Chinese Vengeance / Dynasty of Blood / Kung Fu Invaders), released in 1973. Story of the original Chi Ma, which is based on novels inspired by a true event, starts with three bandits, sworn brothers, Zhang Wenxiang, Huang Zong and Ma Xinyi joining the government force to suppress a rebellion. Three eventually become highly decorated and Ma is promoted to as a governor. Then Ma murders Huang and takes Huang's beautiful wife. Zhang swears to revenge his dead brother and plans to assassinate Governor Ma, against all odds. The original Chinese title, Chi Ma, literally means "The Assassination of Ma." There is no word on whom Peter Chan intends to cast for the role of Huang's wife.
I'll keep looking for more. This movie is not set - they are at the planning stage.

I'd like to see him try to play an evil character. It would be something totally unexpected what majority "expects" him to play too.
