Oooh Windysgirl- where art thou? Okay , I have a confession- I definitely had a blonde moment ( no offense to the blondes out there).. I rented Twilight Samurai by your recommendation at this thread, and waited for it to come in the mail. Meanwhile I telling my brother about this great movie I rented a month or so ago called Samurai something and raved about it. Well, I got TS in the mail and popped it into the DVD player and realized it was the movie I was telling my brother about. Oh well, so I saw it twice- it's a great movie. And this time I watched the special features with the interview with H. Sanada in English. He's great and in watching his interview, he's even more amazing. I think I would like to watch more of his movies- evidentally, he's been in the business for quite some time! Thanks for the recommendation that led to a second viewing- an amazing movie!! I really loved him also in The Last Samurai- he talks about it in his interview on Twilight Samurai.

Hi Tatiana - here I am. Glad you agree on the movie. RE your blond moment - just look on the positive side! You got to see the movie again and the interview. I'd say it's a win, win situation. What's new with you since you have returned from Tahiti? How is your job treating you? Did you ever see Space Travelers yet? WG

Hi Samanosuke, what have you been up to these days? I got a new portable dvd player and am looking for a hack for it - I checked that site you recommended and couldn't find one yet. Guess I'll have to be patient and keep checking the site. Do you have any other suggestions? WG

What have I been doing? Well lets see.... buying dvds as usual. I bought a collectors edition of a movie named Il Mare. It is a unique love story. I really enjoyed that movie ALOT and so did my girlfriend eventhough she's not too fond of subtitled movies. I would write a review and post it in the Korean section but I suck at reviews. However I highly recommend it. imdb.com/title/tt0282599/As for your dvd player, did you read the manual? There's a slim chance that the manual will tell you how to reset the region code.......slim chance.

Oh no kidding this is one of my fav Korean movies!! I love this movie.... it's quite slow, nothing too dramatic but I love it. It's soo "Korean". They love to play with the subject of "fate" a lot. There's another Japanese romantic movie that I really love. It's called "Love Letter", Miho Nakayama (the woman in "Love 2000" with TK) is the main character in it. When I get a chance I'll talk more about it on here. Gotta bounce now... but Il Mare is a lovely movie. I'd recommand it too!!!

WG Hi Windysgirl- sorry I'm late in replying...No I haven't seen Space Travelers, and I was just thinking I would love to see some new ( well, new to me) movie of TK! I 'm going out to finally buy Sleepless Town today. I think I'm in TK withdrawal! Have a good day WG. Hope you are well and happy. P. S. We need to work on completing TK's list of movies and dramas- I wonder how many of you out there have seen all his works??

Hey Samanosuke - what's up? I need your opinion on something - I found another site that sells Asian dvd's close to where I live and found uncut, 2 disk, special and limited editions of HOFD, and Hero. Now - both films are uncut versions, and the special features disk of HOFD has some features subtitled in English and Hero's sf disk is not subtitled at all. I already have the US releases of both films, which I enjoy, but am curious about what has been edited out. I know of the 3 scenes from HOFD because you told us about them and I'm not sure what has been cut from Hero, so my question to you is: do you think it would be worth it for me to buy these dvd's when I already have them? My dilema is I want to see what I'm missing, but do I want to spend the money to buy films I already own? What do you think? Thanks for your input. WG

Tatiana - wanted to recommend another film to you. Check out "Goodbye, Mr. Cool" with Ekin Cheng and Karen Mok. Netflix has it. I liked the story and characters. Let me know what you think if you see it. Hey did you see Comrades, Almost a Love Story? Did you like it? Got to go for now, WG

Hi Windysgirl- what's shakin'? I haven't seen Comrades, Almost a Love Story yet- it's next in my queue, though. ( It's labeled as " short wait"....we'll see.) But I've added Goodbye, Mr. Cool to my queue- thanks for thinkin' of me! I noticed that you own Hero and HOFD (me too!) and wondered if you are a Zhang Yimou fan too. I just watched Shanghai Triad, another Yimou film and loved it. Gong Li is great in this flick- have you seen it? Nice chatting with you!

Hello Tatiana - Yes, I've seen Shanghi Triad and enjoyed it. Have you seen Raise the Red Lantern yet? Also directed by Zhang Yimou and starring Gong Li. Did you know they were romantically involved for years and she was in all of his earlier films? Since there isn't anything new to view for TK, I've been looking at Ekin Cheng movies lately. Some are better than others and he usually plays gangsters or supernatural beings. The Storm Riders was good and The Duel, Running Out of Time 2, and I've seen a couple of the Young and Dangerous series. He was also in Tokyo Raiders with Tony Leung and Kelly Chan - I think this was the movie that piqued my interest in seeing more of his films. He is cute, has a good body, is a good fighter and has a great smile. Goodbye Mr. Cool is my favorite so far. Oh well, thanks for letting me rant. WG

YES I was able to do it. ;D By chance I went to the site and there it was - again I'm so excited about it and again I thank you for the info. Okay so what have you been up to? Hope all is well. WG

Hi windygirl, No I haven't seen "Raise a Red Lantern" because I haven't been able to get my hands on it ( though I guess I could buy it..) I did a search and tried to rent all Zhang Yimou's Movies, and I've watched most of them. I enjoy his latest works, though. I guess he gets better with age... No, I did not know that he was romantically involved with Gong Li, but can see it happening. They've made some great movies..Have you seen Ju Dou? ( It too is on my list of rentals) Ekin Cheng?? I'll have to check him out- I did add Goodbye, Mr. Cool to my queue- I'll go back and add Tokyo Raiders. How have ya been? I always enjoy hearin' from you. Take Care!!
