This is unofficial but I read that after "Perhaps Love", Takeshi will be starring in a movie with Gong Li (Raise the Red Lantern, Farewell My Concubine, etc.). She will be playing Takeshi's mother! I'm not quite sure what the movie is about yet but I know it's gonna be serious drama. The director of the movie is Feng Xiaogang (A World Without Thieves) Who is... Gong Li isnt a bad choice actually.
She may be a bit young to play his mom, but it worked for Angelina Jolie and Colin Farrell in "Alexander", oh wait... no it didnt work them.

hmmm, i think Gong Li is much prettier that Ziyi.
Perhaps it's b/c i don't particularly like Ziyi, but it would not be a bad idea having Gong Li as his mom, I wouldn't mind either if it was his love interest.
By the by, whose gonna play opposite Takeshi?

Nobody likes Zhang ziyi!  well that's my personal opinion. This movie is gonna be mainly about family struggles/drama type thing. TK and Gong Li are the main stars. No words on who is playing TK's female opposite... I think she will be a minor role anyway. The movie is still on the "talking" stage so nothing is final. TK hasn't even done "Perhaps Love" yet and already a new project is lining up for him. |

I had no idea a lot of us Takeshi fans didn't care for Ziyi. Me included.
Should be an interesting film. I understand it is not even finalized yet and has been an on again off again sort of thing, so don't keep your hopes up that it will ever take place. Then again, don't we want anything and everything we can get on Takeshi!

Well, I for one like her. Thought she was great in CTHD and HOFD. Can't wait to see the "Memoirs of a Geisha."
It's ironic that supposedly so many people don't like her, and yet she's the only one making the big splash in Hollywood right now.
From what I read of her interviews, I think she's has a great attitude, though I admit she (being human) has made some gaffes in saying things that are better left unsaid. But she's growing as a person and as an actress and she's learning not to say things at the spur of the moment, because she realizes that it only gets her into trouble.
Those who don't like Ziyi, what is it about her that you object to or don't like about her?

I'm not a fan of Ziyi but I wouldn't say I dislike her either. I like her better then Kelly Chen & Gigi Leung as his love interest. BTW, I have some news on another movie who's producers are going to try and get Takeshi for. I can't say to much yet as it's only at it's script-writing stages but the movie is going to be based on a Video Game and will be a Hollywood production. As we all know, Takeshi loves his Video Games so hopefully he will say yes to the role.

Was this just a rumour? considering that Perhaps Love is completed now, and the new movie that he's working on is already in progress...
I can't believe it! Gong Li?! The gorgeous gong li from memoirs of a geisha is said to be playing takeshi's mom!? Yes. That would be another case of "Alexander" where it looks like the mother would be dating the son haha geez that movie gave me the creeps

Isn't Gong Li in that new movie out here in the States "Miami Vice"? There was some controversy about her scenes with Colin being a bit too "steamy" to be shown in China I think. Which made me laugh cuz she's been in some ummm adult situations in Asian movies. |

Hi Tje, i think what you're talking about is Curse of the Golden Flower with her and Chow Yung Fat. She does play a mother, but Takeshi is not in it. It's about a royal family- the emperor (CYF), the empress (Gong Li) and their sons (Jay Chou, Qin Junjie, and Liu Ye). It is also directed by Zhang Yimou.  |
