I guess I a late responder but I just saw ST yesterday.....rented it from Netflix. I'll probably pop it in again in my DVD player today.
Anyway, I also think this is he's best movie/role second to HOFD. I just love his portrayal of a gotta love 'em bad boy in this movie. He looks so handsomely HOT as well.
Regarding the twist of this story, I think he gave her the gun knowingly empty. I don't know if you remember but he explecitely said in the whole movie that he didn't trust her. So, when he found the truth about her he didn't take any chances.
I love the ending as well. Although he had to dispose her I think it's part of his bad boy persona......he's a gangster after all. According to books regarding hardcore gangsters, no matter who the person is to you if they pose a threat to the organization you have to do what you have to do.

If anyone needs Sleepless Town, I can make you guys copies of my DVD, it'll only be $2 + watever shipping costs. Don't worry, i have a great burning software, so the copies come out as perfect as the original.
;)And they're region 0, so it'll play in any DVD player

 Dude, you're missing out.....TK is like a bad guy....even slaps the lady towards the end......and there's all sorts of lovin too..but you might not care about that.....lol....but it is such a good flick. You are nuts for not watching dude....

I watched ST today, a friend of mine downloaded from e-mule. What a movie! The story about a romance, or something very much like It, in the middle of a gang war is always a great tale. Tokyo is also a great city. But, the better is still Takeshi almost naked. What is the problem with him? How can he be always so great? Takeshi doesn't exist!

OK, first let me say when I got this movie (it's easily available now in most retail if not Amazon.com) and watched it. I was stunned. You know how they say in this world everyone has a double out there? Well, the way Takeshi-san looks in this movie, ESPECIALLY in the scene where he was looking through Natsumi's room and stuff, I swear he looks like my ex-BF. Only Takeshi-san looks more mature  Still, it shocked me at the resemblance and fell down on the floor in front of TV I really like this movie in the sense that the more you watch it, the more details you catch later on  As for the earlier comment about the camera not being on Takeshi-san when he sang "Unforgettable..." I wonder if he asked the director not to shoot him in the scene given the fact we know he's a bit shy (and at the time film was released) he didn't feel confident in speaking English? One caveat...was it me or was he smokin' up a storm?! |

I, too, couldn't believe how much TK smoked in this film! Holy Cats!
He's never without a ciggy, sadly...deep sigh=(
On another note...I saw a short clip on UTube, I didn't know it was from ST coz I hadn't seen it yet. The UTube clip was called "In bed with Takeshi"and it was totally steamy. It showed the clip when Kenichi was on the floor, and Natsumi is, well, servicing him. In the UTube clip, you only see TKs face, and I thought...WOW! It looks like he's getting a B*J! Then I watched ST, and he really WAS getting a B*J!!! It was totally Hot!
