Synopsis: Takeshi Kaneshiro stars as Kenichi Lau, a Chinese-Japanese half-breed who makes a living trafficking in stolen goods. Three days before Chinese New Year, he finds himself in the midst of a brewing gang war among the various Chinese gangs. The players are too hard to list without a detailed scorecard. Kenichi is charged with finding his old partner, who was responsible for killing the right-hand man of crime boss Yuan (Eric Tsang). Meanwhile, a mysterious woman named Natsumi (Mirai Yamamoto of Jackie Chan’s Who Am I) shows up in Kenichi’s life proffering a rare item for sale. Can she be trusted? Kaneshiro is the perfect choice for this role due to his fluency in Mandarin and Japanese. He carries himself well, but it’s a difficult part. He’s not able to use his abundant charm with Kenichi, who’s as brooding and intense as they come. Mirai Yamamoto fares better, giving some emotional ambiguity to her character. Does anyone had this title? I've been looking around the internet but i think it's out of print and the people who have them are asking ridiculous prices for it.
Anyone want to sell, or can make a copy of this?

Go to Ebay. There is a seller who is charging about eleven dollars or something (with S/H). He's from Hong Kong and I don't know if he is a good dealer or not. But it is worth a try.

Thanks! You should really get this, Malena. Even if it's a VCD, at least you will get to see this great movie. I think it's one of his best--in my opinion! I hope you'll like it!

I watched it, and Takeshi with long hair tied back in a ponytail is ! oh so sexy!But... I don't know what it is , but a rarely like the ladies he is paired up with, this girl being no different. but that's just me being picky, this movie completely rocks! i haven't seen this movie nor enough of his movies with love interests to make a totally fair assessment, but i have seen a few and i agree. i also find the chemistry sorely lacking (Ziyi Zhang in HOFD is no exception). i have a theory, hope ya'll don't throw any flying daggers at me, hee-hee: i think takeshi's blessing is his curse when it comes to chemistry with women on film. what i mean is that first of all he is both so profoundly photogenic and profoundly charismatic that it's difficult for any actress paired with him to match that. takeshi, as we all know, is unusually gifted at being able to carry within himself a variety of expressions and emotions...even within one single scene he can go from little-boy-lost, to broken-hearted, to smoldering and brooding, to anger, to sadness, to joy, etc. within 5 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!! he is by far the single most expressive actor i have ever seen. ever. on top of these ablities, there is his looks. as some of you have said before, he almost looks like japanese anime (i believe one of his female co-stars said the same thing once!). his features (speaking now only of his face) are strong and profound...large nose, very full lips...even the shape of his lips are profound, big eyes, thick eyebrows, strong chin, sharp cheekbones, and the dimples...can't forget the dimples . just that face alone is incredible to match onscreen no matter how pretty the girl is, and surely he has been matched with some lovely women. but then he's tall and his bearing is strong, very self-contained, manly and composed in one minute, then the next minute he moves in a certain way that is child-like, willowy, lithe, stealth, fast, flexible (takeshi is very flexible and lithe! watching him in 'fallen angels' i was so struck by how he can move his body around, flopping and flinging himself around, running, jumping and tumbling, and he can curl himself up into fetal position is a split-second like he's made of putty, or perch himself perfectly balanced on a chair while washing a guy's hair!--it's so impressive!). i have created quite a list here, but it all comes down to the fact that with his physical dynamics and the way he looks onscreen, along with the fact that MAN, he can ACT!...it has to be very difficult for a director to find a female counterpart for him, someone to match him in looks, (and i don't even mean a woman who is necessarily beautiful or classic) one who can match him with a look that is unique and profound, just as his looks are. and then also to be a woman with the physical and emotional power that he has. who could that woman be? would it have to be a western actress? is it possible that an asian woman can match him? i think so. i think it doesn't matter her nationality, she just has to be an actress with a strong bearing, very talented, and with a unique look. takeshi is a thoroughbred horse. he needs an actress who is one, too. these dainty little pretty actresses who have one-note talent are always going to be swallowed up when they are on-screen with takeshi. it's like being a dandelion in a field of wild roses...you might be a pretty flower, but you'll never compete with wild roses. and that's my 2 cents worth!

WOW! You took the words right out of my mouth Veronica! TK's talent just seems to be on another level from most of his leading ladies. I think he'd truly be better matched with more mature, seasoned actresses. But......that's probably not going to happen too much. I'm sure there's quite a bit of ageism in Asian cinema just as in Hollywood. I would LOVE to see TK have a role opposite Maggie Cheung, for instance! The best chemistry I've seen TK have with anyone in a role was with the female lead in Golden Bowl, who was, of course, playing someone older than TK. It was just so much fun watching the two of them interact. I haven't been overly impressed with the performances of Gigi Leung, Zhang Ziyi, or Kelly Chen in their movies with TK. Kelly Chen in particular just seems so freakin' disinterested everytime I see her. You're sharing the screen with one of the most gorgeous men on the planet. Show some life why don't you!!

I couldn't agree with you more, TickTake! Of all the actresses that starred opposite Takeshi--the one in Golden Bowl struck me the most compatible. I think if Golden Bowl were in a more serious vein--we would have seen how good a chemistry the 2 of them have!
