I'm starting a new thread here--with one of Takeshi's rarely heard-of films. I hope it's alright, Webmaster. This is one of Takeshi's earlier films--Japanese. I think around 1994. It's a good movie with lots of twists and turns, lies, betrayals, murder involving the 3 main characters. The surprising thing was this movie was done during the time frame when Takeshi was doing a lot of 'nonsense' or 'fun' films--so this was a real eye opener when I saw it! There are some pretty graphic scenes in this film--so, I gave this an 'R' rating. Has anyone else seen this movie? This is a wallpaper I found at a Japanese website--with the signature Takepon--depicting screen caps from the movie 'Misty'. I can't find the name of the website--not being in English, so, in case the 'owner' happens to chance on this post--pls. let me know who I can properly credit this wallpaper to. Thanks! Okay--maybe I can post this web address: http:www.ne.jp/asahi/kumi/takepon/index.htm This is the site I got the wallpaper from--

Yes, Chinky eyes--Takeshi, and the 2 other characters! There's a graphic sex scene(not with Takeshi) and a couple with our 'dear sweety'--pretty tame. But, the story is interesting wherein--the tale unfolds based on flashbacks from 3 different versions. You see, there was a murder commited in the forest--, and authorities are gathering information regarding what transpired--the 3 witnesses (one of which is the murderer) each tell a different tale. Now, it's up to the authorities and the viewer, who the guilty party is. I won't say anymore because I don't want to give away the story to those who might want to watch this movie. This is really different from his other films--so, I recommend it highly!

Seen this film on its release in vcd a few years back, doesn't Takeshi look good in that traditional Japanese costume? Alas, the movie is abit slow. Wouldn't have watched it if Takeshi wasn't in there. ;D

"Who is telling the truth?" "What is truth?" Sounds like Takeshi is being philosophical again.

This sounds like an interesting movie. Jadedragon- I agree with you in that TK's earlier movies, i.e. china dragon, school days are silly,so I'm surprised this movie is so gritty?! Thanks for wall paper (JD) and DVD jacket (Sam). Will have to ask the Webmaster to pick this up too.
Digging TK in the traditional japanese garb. Is there any other movies TK wears traditional costumes? ( Of course, besides HOFD and this movie )

I've heard of this film but haven't seen it yet.. Oh how i love the hunt for TKs lesser known films (but it can be sooo fustrating!)! 'Misty' looks intriguing. Does anyone have any clues as to where to find it? Tatiana - i can't think of any other movies in which TK wears Traditional costume....but maybe i'm just having a slow day! He looks pretty bewitching in it!

TK wears Chinese Traditional in HOFD and China Dragon. But in HOFD, the chinese costumes were designed by japanese so TK's costume doesn't look traditional chinese.

Actually, Alisa, and everyone else who's interested---I understand that Emi Wada, the Japanese costume designer did a lot of actual research regarding Tang Dynasty period costumes before finalizing her designs for HOFD. I don't think the director will want to deviate too much from authenticity as far as set designs, costumes, etc., goes.
