my 2 cents...his eyes look different but I think it's age and weight loss. Also, his cheekbones were softer when he was younger, and I doubt 100% that he got cheek implants.

Veronica: I think you sum things up very well here about TK and plastic surgery. Now, I'm just wondering if this particular topic thread is going to end soon...I personally feel that dear TK has been speculated about, scrutinized, and analyzed way more than enough over whether or not he's had plastic surgery. From what I can tell, more of us fans than not seem to think he hasn't had anything done to his face, which feels encouraging to me. Anyway, I'm really ready to see this specific discussion topic come to a close, but that's just my two cents worth.

yes, well i just posted a similar comment in another thread regarding the gay issue and i'll apply the same comment here: it seems uncanny that whenever the gay topic and the surgery topic dies down for a bit suddenly someone "new" starts posting and right away out of ALL the threads in this forum, they find the gay thread and the surgery thread and get these topics going AGAIN. i agree, swellboy, i wish it would stop. the ONLY reason these two topics prick my skin is because both are so unsubstantiated, yet they get so much attention. there is a danger of losing respect for takeshi as a person and for his work by only focusing on those random tidbits that are the most salacious and which get the most attention. maybe if webmaster or one of the moderators sees our comments that we are tired of these topics, maybe they can put a lock on those threads. i don't know what else can be done... I personally don't think that any of the moderators needs to step in to lock these topics. I'm trusting that they'll stop eventually, even if and when some new member happens to pop in to post something on one or both of these threads you mention. One thing that folks can do (and I include myself here) is to opt not to *respond* to any new posts on threads where one has already said their piece(s). I'm proud of myself to say that there is one thread I've steered clear from posting anything on, even though I have my own thoughts and feelings about what's getting posted over on it. I just don't feel a need to participate in such a particular discussion. I've noticed how it seems like some folks need to have the last word about things, no matter what. Unfortunately, I think this often just helps to *perpetuate* a tired topic thread to keep on going, not to mention aggravate people and thereby foster an angry, disrespectful tone in the environment of much of the forum. The moderators, to their credit, are trusting us members to act mature and express our feelings, which we all have the right to do, of course, in a respectful, non-overreactive manner. I have registered, as have others here, no doubt, your deep concern, Veronica, about "a danger of losing respect for TK as a person and for his work" because of people paying attention to the unsabstantiated topics that you mention, and the zeroing in by some folks on the "salacious" (a word I've always been intrigued by the sound of, even though I know it's not a kind term at all) and "random tidbits." This is what I have to say to that: Well, for those who thrive on gossip and would lose respect for TK, I really think such people lack a sense of integrity and never really had much, if any, respect for him in the first place. I suspect that TK doesn't worry too much about such stuff, given how independent-minded a person he is. I wouldn't worry so much about it, Veronica. People are going to think and feel whatever they think and feel, in this case here, about TK. There's no use trying to change people via engaging in arguments. I think the best one can simply do is to lead by example, such as not even bothering to respond to topics that are not worth one's time of day. (I'm learning to do this more and more; I think it can be a life-long process for many.) Another way to put it: Try not to stoop to what you personally perceive is such a low level of discussion. Stay above it all by ignoring it and letting it fade away. Of course, if a topic gets to the point of out-right flaming to others, or somehow clearly insulting TK, well, I think that's where the moderators, as a final resort, step in. Please, let's all avoid putting the moderators in a position where they feel a need to do that. In closing, I say, let's all work on thinking more carefully before we post something when our feelings happen to be running high (and I imagine many members here do that already). That way, we can all participate in fostering a respectful, pleasant environment on this forum while also keeping to honestly expressing ourselves. Peace, Swellboy
