yeah he needs to stop now cuz what happens to long term chain smokers is that it permeates through your pores so you don't have to be smoking to smell like cigarettes. It seeps through your SKIN folks!!!

Also, I have noticed hes kinda short of breath and has a smokers laugh. LOL
All this smoking is showing signs of problems, not just that the smell seeping through the skin but it would speed up the ageing process. Hes aged a lot in the past year, his lines are showing already and hes only 32.

Oh those lines have been there awhile back but yes, I've noticed that as of last year it's REALLY noticeable! Note to future directors and TK's management staff: He won't be able to do any action flicks in the near future with him being winded and hacking the "smoker's cough" soon!
*sigh* it's so hard seeing this happen to him....the first warning signs his body is slowly breaking down.

I rather have him addicted to coffee than cigarettes any day. Even though coffee can make your teeth yellow too, it's not as hazardous to your health as smoking. I hope that if there's ever an interview with Takeshi and they ask him about smoking, he'll be telling them about how he's quitting. Come on Takeshi, if I can learn how to drive, you can quit smoking. That's saying something too because I'm not a good driver.

It's tough though cuz in Asian culture, smoking is just so prevailant wherever you go! It would have to (unfortunately) take something that hits him on a very personal level to get him to stop. I have a co-worker who had to watch her child slowly suffer and die from lung cancer. If that wasn't bad enough, it was due to second hand smoking that she did! She quit cold turkey but years later, she was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. She died last year...she was only 50!

I'm sorry to hear about your co-worker kewpie-chan. It is indeed unfortunate how Takeshi would really have to go through something life changing to quit smoking. My dad used to smoke way early on, but he quit because of us, his family. Maybe that's the kind of impact that would support Takeshi to quit smoking. I'm not saying he should go have kids, lol, but something truly important or someone who he really cares for in his life could push him to lay of smoking day by day. That would be great.

Well I read in a separate topic in this forum that he's trying the vegetarian route. Which is good but it's not going to really help 100% so long as he still puffs away more than a steam locomotive!

I know, it's like instead of grabbing a cig, grab a vegetable twig. Lol, er something like that. Anything that will keep Takeshi healthy and looking and feeling great.

Yeah, that was gross. I know it's the ugly truth about smoking, but seriously I think we know that it gets worse if you just continue to smoke over the years. I hope Takeshi's getting information about how to quit or some attempt to slowly progress from smoking to not.
