Since this website is really wonderful, I will be surprised if Kaneshiro (or his publicity people) don't glance across these pages--or at least, that is my hope.
As a fan who appreciates good actors, I am really sad that Kaneshiro smokes so much. He is 31 years old, and he sounds like he has been smoking for a while. There is almost a 60-70% chance that smokers will develop lung cancer or other complications. What a waste of a beautiful man like Takeshi if he were to get ill because of something he can control and stop. I don't know what kind of anti-smoking awareness there might be in Japan or China, but I wish we could educate iconic people like Kaneshiro to stop this nasty habit.
Takeshi: You are the absolute embodiment of beauty! Preserve it for as long as you can. GIVE UP SMOKING!!!

I'm with you on this message. Peter Jennings announced early of this month he's battling lung cancer and he had been a heavy smoker til mid or late '80. Just couple week ago one of my coworkers passed away because of lung cancer, he was also a heavy smoker.
I wish somehow the message of smoking is very bad for the health could get to TK.

Couldn't agree with you more Jadedragon. I would love more than ANYTHING to see TK stop smoking. However, until he wants to stop for himself, there's probably not a whole lot others can do to convince him to do so. Although he does seem like the type that would appreciate the concern of his fans!  |

Great info on Takeshi, updated media files almost every week, photos, things to purchase(after the webmaster gets back, and opens the 'buy it now' section), etc.--what more could a fan ask for?  Going back to your post--are you volunteering to be his wife?--hee! Hee! I'm pretty sure you'll be in the running with a million other females!!  Believe me--even with wife or children available--Takeshi being born in the year of the ox --is as stubborn as they come. He will do what he will do--when he decides it himself-- and not because someone or something is making him do it. Nasty habit--smoking--but, we love him just the same!!  |

Well let me tell you something. For to stop smoking you need to want it . No husband, or wife or children will ever make somebody stops without been self-convinced first. I've been married 7 years to a smoker, so I know what I'm talking about. Takeshi needs to be first convinced that he wants to quit smoking, before that, it will never work. Finally he is an adult and an intelligent man, he knows what he does.. I guess we can only hope he quits before beeing 40. (Then he still have the chance that his lungs will recover) wish him luck and give him our support!!. |

thats why i believe that when you really love someone.. you would want to be a better person for that someone..

I'm in full agreement here with y'all. Indeed, TK has to *want* to quit smoking and it sure would be a big relief for us all here, who care about him, if he did... Oh, and a good *husband* might help him feel motivated to quit just as much as a good wife...i.e., a good *mate*, along with a child or two, could be helpful motivators for TK to quit this nasty habit. But, it all comes back to TK really having the drive to do so, no matter what love-filled people surrounded his immediate life... To my understanding, cigarettes are the most difficult thing to quit-- over any other drug, including heroin. I've heard that time and again over the years...*Sigh* |
